Good recovery... Northwestern looked like they got tired at the end of the half.
Dakich is spot on about Berry. He got better late. In fairness to him, McIntosh has a lot of game.
If we shoot close shots, we'll be fine. Even if we miss, those are more reboundable misses.

Hicks and Johnson are playing good together 43-36 at the half. Guard play is still pretty bad but at least Pinson hit a couple bombs. Northwestern big man having his way.
I like taking it to the basket, which you can do against a zone. You just drive to then find gaps and holes where your people should move to.
I also liked some of the switching on defense. We are athletic enough to do that against a lot of teams.

He did? Never looked like the best stroke to me. It looks like his jumps forward on his jumpers as well.
He had a really good half though. I like that you can see he cares about each possession. He seems committed. Wish all our guys had that trait.
I DESPISE Dakich, and he's always, ALWAYS gonna find a way to claim we aren't "tough" (which may be right about this group, but not our program historically), but he is spot on about Meeks' lifelessness. Meeks simply doesn't care enough about the game or his role on this UNC team to ever reach his physical potential. He's the guy you want slap in the face and tell him to get off his lazy ass and get to work, and if he doesn't want to pay the price and play HARD (not entitled), then just go the F away and quit being a cancer to this team.
If Meeks played as hard and w/ the passion that Pinson, does, he'd OWN the paint night in and night out.

Alright guys, keep the intensity that you finished the 1st half with and push this lead into the 15-18 point range early in the 2nd half.
Keep getting the ball to Jackson on the baseline and good things will happen.
I said the same thing sort of before the season when many on here was talking like the Final Four was a given. We can get there but we need to get a lot tougher. Looks like the same team from last year so far. I know we are short Paige. But he can't cover all five guys on the other team. No inside scoring looks a lot better. And passing overall not bad. But the same 4 things from last year. Heart and toughness on D. Can't stop the dribble drive. Gives up way to many open threes. And on offense. Consistency on hitting the three ball.

Starting out defensively the way we started the game instead of the way we ended the half. Why not go back to switching some of that stuff??

That baseline drive was bad D but a lot of these curls they are hipchecking the defender with the screener. I don't know why it is never being called.

I'm not that surprised. Demps is a senior that's been through a ton throughout his career. Right now, he's a tougher player and the senior is taking it to a first year starter.
Too many jumpers! The last two fell but both were very poor choices and contested low percentage shots.
We're settling a bit. Shots are going in, but likelihood is we'll start missing them. Need to shoot close. We can also dominate the glass a little easier on close misses.
Why can't this team play like this most of the game? This last little stretch. That is what it surposse to look like. It just like we sleep threw half the game.
