I was fearing the worst because Roy's fooled with the lineup late 1H against Duke and Arkansas and it really bit us. Good response from the boys.

Well that last 3-5 minutes looked servicable. Lucky to be ahead. I hope we figure out to keep going inside. Drive the zone. Bothersome to me that it seems Joel can't do much. Doesn't much seem to be "near 100%". Maybe JJ can get going and take over. Plus Meeks and Hicks.

In a weird way, I think both teams are pretty happy...

Oregon is in the game despite Tyler Dorsey not making a shot.

If you grade our first half.... A solid D? And we're up.

Each team missed a ton of opportunities. I can argue that each team should be ahead by 10+... Oregon didn't take advantage of our crappy offense.... We could be ahead by 10+ if we took advantage of 12 Oregon turnovers.

Game will probably come down to the wire.

What we learned from the 1st half is we're absolutely screwed if this isn't an up-and-down tempo game. If we get the tempo high, we will probably win... If this is a half court game for the enitrety of the second half, we probably lose.

It will be all about tempo in the second half.

I like the way we closed out the half. If we come out playing like that in the second half, we could get them on the ropes and they may panic. Right now they are out rebounding us and we are only shooting 40%, so we have to find a way to make some shots, especially from outside. Not to start jacking them up, just to make them respect it.

We also need to attack and get Dorsey, Ennis and their other big guy in foul trouble. Do that and we could own the paint the rest of the way.

As bad as we looked at times, we closed out strong and seem to have them rattled a little They have never been here before, so we need to come out and hit them in the mouth right out of the gates and not let up until the final whistle.

Oregon's missed 13 shots and has 4 offensive rebounds (30.8%)

We've missed 21 shots and have 6 offensive rebounds (28.6%)

We could be doing a better job. If we grab 2 more defensive rebounds in the 1st half, we have a rebounding margin edge.

To your point, rebound margin is a very flawed stat... But Oregon's grabbed a few too many offensive rebounds. Need to clean it up.

This is exciting. Meeks is channeling 2005 Sean May the last couple of games. I'm happy that Stillman White ended up getting minutes in this run too. Sure spot minutes, but he's filled a role for us at the end of his journey here.
Time to go win this game. I don't think we shoot nearly as bad in the 2nd half as we did for most of that first half. I think we can open this lead up a little and take control.

He needs to realize he has 2 fouls as well. He picked up a 3rd really early 2H against UK.

I said at the 4 minute mark that as bad as we were playing I'd have been happy to be down 8 at the half.

We have played better in the second half of a lot of games. We also seem to step up when we need to at critical moments, so I am hoping we see some more good things right out of the gates. Maybe they will play with some more urgency and realize all this "redemption" talk will be for nothing if they don't.
Oregon seemed rattled when we stepped up on defense at the end. We also stopped jacking up outside shots and started attacking the zone and moving without the ball more. Need to do more of that this half and go put this one out of reach fast.

Frankly, Oregon is too good a team to roll over, but we could really put them in a situation where they have to get out of what they like to do if we stretch this lead out.
