unc vs Pitt on Saturday 25 Feb 2017 game thread

12 and a half minutes to go and Carolina is up by 16. So far Pitt has showed zero in the paint and because of that the points in the paint is very one sided. Also the perimeter defense has been good so far.

Berry slips pass the Pitt interior defense and scores 59-41 at the 12 minute tv timeout. Unlike back on the 31st when Pittsburgh was lights out from three at the Dean Dome having 13 go thru the nets they have found it more difficult.

85-67 as Nix scores down low. I must admit I felt this game was going to be much closer but with no interior game Pitt had to rely too much on outside shooting and they put up

Very good effort and energy on both ends. Pitt looked pretty flat and tired the last 10 minutes. Very impressed with Kennedy Meeks again, and Justin Jackson had a really nice, quick active offensive game.

Seems like the Heels were faster to almost every 50/50 ball - more hustle, and guys really worked to get good inside post position, and our interior passing was very good too. Very nice win, on a road senior day game, against a team that has beaten or been close to some good teams (ie - win at FSU I think).

But the announcers are still talking about what Pitt has to do to make the tourney. Crazy talk. There is one way they can get in. Win the ACC tourney.

Meeks vs. Nix. That's a lot of beef.
But to be fair - Meeks has slimmed down A LOT, and he really moves in the lane, and plays D, and gets up and down the court well. KM has worked his butt off, and should be recognized for it.
Alternatively, guys like Nix really can't go up and down much more than a couple times without being gassed. Its apparent they don't have him on any sort of nutritional diet plan.

Imajerico called this. Knowing what is going on with a team is huge, & I'm thinking jericho has an ear to the ground in the steel city. I'm not sure if they've really quit on Stallings but this was much easier than I expected.
