They're generally staying in front of him. He's initiating a lot of the contact.
Brooks is awful against this physicality. Get his ass out. Go small ball and hope for the best.
We have got to spread the floor and that won’t happen with any lineup other than our small ball lineup.
I'm going to point out that Theo has sucked today. I do that now because usually when I criticize him he suddenly turns it around.
Yeah. at least Manley looks like he is a borderline unc type big man. the other two are seriously concerning me. Id expect to see them at pitt.
And another one that’s been awful lately is Theo. No less than half of UVa’s Open 3’s or layups are a result of him being out of position or just not competing on defense.
The good news is that we have been a come-from-behind team several times this season. Especially recently. We don't always pull it out, but we know we can make a run.
I honestly don't think UVA is all that. If they are the 8th best team in the nation, that's sad.
But we are obviously not the 12 th best when you can't make basic simple passes, and end up hoisting up ridiculous shots.

Theo Pinson is absolutely dreadful on offense. He hasn't been much better on defense today. You simply can't have Pinson and Brooks on the floor at the same time. You are playing 5 on 3 offensively with those 2 on the floor.
Jalek continues to be one 3pt streaky game from being an absolute disaster this year unfortunately.
First 18 minutes of the 1st half was tough...the last two minutes were infuriating! Come on Heels!
No way we win just doing what we’ve done, again in second half. Why not come out and press and trap them? What do we have to lose at this point? We have zero chance- zero - of winning a half court slow it down grind out game against them. Against their defense our half court offense gets a grade of D- at best.
UVA isn't anything special. The ACC officials allow them to play football on defense in conf. play and when they get in the NCAA tournament they get in the called for it. They will get blown out again in the tournament and head back to Charlottesville wondering what happened.
Pinsons lack of offensive development is concerning. I remember watching him attack and slice through defenses against the best players in the country in high school and he looked great, and his shot was at least serviceable. He's regressed, and idk what to think about that.

Serious question for our gurus. What is it that UVa does that makes every one of our guys look bad handling the ball? Not just one guy, every guy. Not just some of the time, nearly all of the time.
