Welcome back Joel Berry

He was never leaning 'heavily' toward leaving. Roy told him that, based on intel, he was an early 2nd rounder at best and advised him to enter the draft w/o an Agent to get more info. JB went back and forth about it for over a week and then decided to do it but realized that his heart was not in it and would rather stay in CH and work on his game over the next 6 weeks rather than focus on the NBA paperwork and pre-draft junk. I was told that JB basically picked on Theo and twisted his arm to the point where he would also do the draft-with-no-Agent deal as well ... but that neither of them have seriously considered skipping their senior season.

Knox has known for at least 10 days that JB was coming back. FWIW
No matter what happens with the remaining question marks, it cannot be overstated how important JB's return is to Carolina Basketball --- present and future.
1. It ensures we're gonna be pretty doggone good again.
2. We start the season with the nation's best PG and best all-around player in the ACC and are right back in the national spotlight when there are many out there who would love to bury us as an also-ran.
3. For the MOP of the National Championship to quickly choose to return to finish his degree and play at a place he loves, when so many assumed he would leave, sends a LOUD message to the haters and the Sankeys of the world as to how much our players value their very real education and dispells the narrative that they would jump off the ship. In other words, a real big FU.
4. It transitions us to Roy's future classes without a big retool in between, and JB can pass the torch to Jalek.

I have no inside info , but multiple posters on other boards were saying he was 95% gone. I didn't think this jived , but I had nothing but personal opinion as the foundation for my opinion.

Bradley may very well leave, but there were definitely those just a few eeeks ago saying both him and berry were definitely gone and announcing momentarily. So I'll wait until it actually happens I don't think anyone knows for sure.

That's a hellava lot better than a 5 star one and done. The best point guard in the country takes the floor at the Smith Center, under his jersey in the rafters!!!!!! Awesome..

Yeah that's a pretty rare occurrence. We are SO LUCKY to be on this collegiate run. The BB success and our QB is part of the daily NFL draft conversations.

Very happy to have JB back for his senior season. A great representative of the team and university. I'd love to see him lead the Heels to a 3rd consecutive Final Four!
