Apparently it has to do with a possible extra year of eligibility, but what's the actual deal, and is it happening?

I notice Clemson's Schieffelin popping up on the list. Only 10 MVPs last year. Probably not good enough for us.

They are just doing it on the small chance the NCAA changes eligibility rules this summer and gives everyone 5 years.

Ian Schieffelin
Dontrez Styles
Ben Middlebrooks
Efton Reid
Eddie Lampkin

These are just the ACC frontcourt players who have entered the portal with no years left

Dawson Garcia just entered the portal. He's already played 5 seasons of college basketball. I guess he thinks that leaving halfway through his season at UNC entitles him to a 6th year of eligibility?

What are the odds of the NCAA actually changing this?

Would players in their COVID year also get another year?

If they do give an extra year, I guess the seniors who did not enter the portal can only be picked up by their current team. In which case it makes sense to enter the portal. Your spot may already have been filled by your current school, so being in the portal improves your odds of getting to play another year in college.

If we have the money, and if these guys get another year, Schieffelin would be a great addition, I think.

Could we bring back some of the greats? Let’s sign up Jordan, Tyler H, Stackhouse, Felton, and a few more of those in the rafters. That would be a fun season.
