You're doing some hard core mental gymnastics to defend Hubert Davis. Hubert knows he's ineligible before Christmas and continues playing him as long as it's within the rules to do so, then proceeds to state in a press conference that he hopes he'll be back for the next game. Lying is not over the line, but it is only one of the things that it could be called. I personally think Hubert is the one who goes over the line almost every time he opens his mouth after a game. The players aren't stupid. They hear this asinine crap and it's got to lead to a loss of respect for the coach. You may not like it, but that's the truth.

I am not working nearly as hard defending Hubert as you are tearing him down? Yeah, I am defending Hubert and always will when I see him unfairly attacked. Imagine that me defending UNC's head basketball coach, who would ever think a UNC fan would do such a thing...

...coaches have a responsibility to talk with academic support staff regularly to ensure no players are approaching ineligibility. It takes active negligence by the coaching staff to let this happen.
