When we press and attack on defense.....

Good things almost always happen. I have been advocating that this team press alot and like tonight, when we use it, it is effective. I hope we continue to use this press a lot more as the season winds down....maybe a little too late but I say attack attack attack on d.

I agree with Keyser, as many of us do. Why Hubert waited so long to employ our depth and quickness to press and scramble on defense is mind boggling to me. The tiny ball we've run most of the season was a recipe for disaster, exacerbating an already small backcourt by playing a small frontline. We're 149th nationally in rebound margin, 236th in offensive rebounds(that truly is offensive), and 219th in 3pt% this year. That is a very bad combination. If you're going small, you'd better have 2-3 consistently good 3pt shooters or you're simply going to struggle. We're actually tied for 40th in defensive rebounds and despite the fact that we've for all practical purposes abandoned the secondary break(Gary has been preaching about it all season), we're still tied for 28th in fast break points. Just think what might have been if we'd been employing it regularly. This is not a particularly good shooting team so we need to generate as many open looks as possible, shots where the defense is back on their heels a bit.

Just my 2 cents worth.

ETA: I would just love to see Hubert base his game plans from here on out on what he actually has on this team versus what he wishes he had.
