Which one of you...( Morphed my thread into a cartoon debate?)

I hadn't been able to really be on the board today, and I come back to a whole lot of cartoon poasts. I would like to do a television tournament and am happy to keep track of it but I was waiting for the movie one to ever actually happen so I wouldn't step on toes. It does looks like we would have enough cartoon shows to constitute a region. We could have drama, comedy, animated, variety/reality regions. I'd be down with that if you guys want to do it.

Sounds good to me.

I'm not a fan of the regions. All you're doing with that set-up is eradicating would-be contenders. Think about the NCAA Tourney. Those regions aren't picked by "category." It's not like the South Region has all Southern teams.

That's why randomizing it makes the most sense.

So you wanna put Breaking Bad against Hey Arnold in round 1?

He's just trying to make things more difficult as usual. I guess we could do a round robin format. It would only take a few years to do that.
Nah I'm not. heelz' hypothetical situation is still gonna take place. At some point, you're going to get a final four matchup of like Breaking Bad vs. South Park. How on earth are you going to do pick which is better? The only thing remotely similar about those two is they're both TV shows.

Thus, a 64 (or 32) of only cartoons kinda makes more sense.

It was the bugs bunny show back in the day
Well, I guess as the Saturday morning version it was called that, but a number of the cartoons they showed there were originally shorts in the movie theater from the late 40's through the 50's, and then they added cartoons once they switched to television. I still call them Looney Tunes

The idea is based off of the format of the NCAA basketball bracket, which can have the exact same issues and the best team doesn't always win. Get over it.

Yeah, that's a valid point, I guess to me it would make more sense to have those matchups as few times as possible instead of a constant free for all that are really hard to compare.

Seriously though, you going to do this or have you just been teasing us this whole time?
What, the bracket or tell THN to GFH?

I really do plan on doing the bracket, but I would prefer for us to finish the movie bracket before doing the television one. If you guys want to move ahead with a television bracket, I'm happy doing that, I'm gonna be out of town from tomorrow through next week, so I won't be able to start it just yet, but if the movie bracket doesn't get its momentum rolling in that time, then I'll start it up once I get back in town

By the way, doing a TV show tourney would be fine by me. Gonna be tough to narrow it down to 16 cartoons though. BTW, if Ren & Stimpy is not one of the 16, I will boycott.

At this point I don't think the movie bracket is going to be finished anytime son.

True, but I think that will be a good thing. Whoever wins will truly be deserving instead of some fringe cartoon winning.

You just gave me a reason not to vote for R & S.

Well, since the consensus seems to be that the movie bracket won't actually happen, I'll get to work on the tv bracket once I return from being out of town.
