Sorry but if there's anything but disdain for K on this board then it's time to change the channel... and honestly, Pitino is not far behind (ahead?) in that category. Oh, he's a charmer and a quite capable coach but he's dirty and always has been and is also known for some of his unsavory traits when the camera is off.
Perhaps unfortunately, the heyday of "big-personality" ACC coaches who were easy to either like or hate on is long past, but the Rat and Pitino are throw-backs to the latter category. On the other end, personally I miss Gary Williams --- he was a "crazy man" but a damned good coach and he ran a clean program (at a place where it previously hadn't been). As for his replacement? Not a fan (even if he did play for Roy).
As for the rest of the current crop, yeah I respect Tony at UVA and Buzz is hard to dislike. I HATE Laranaga's style of play and some of his tactics but he's a good basketball coach and seems like a solid fellow, and it's hard to hate on Leonard (although easy to dislike F$U).
As for some others I think Brownell gets a bad rap, although he can be annoying with his martyr complex (but hey, it is Clemson after all), and unlike many here I've never had anything against Boeheim, other than the well-known shenanigans within his program. I've always liked his candor on the mic and he didn't take no sh** back in the dog-eat-dog Big Ea$t heyday.
Finally, as for Pastner down here the jury's still out for me. He's obviously done a good job and comes across likeable (I liked his predecessor --- underrated coach who had trouble recruiting at a major level), but there were rumors from Memphis that weren't as savory. So, we shall see...
Oh, and Roy is da bomb!...
