What a genius that guy is. I mean, actually putting in place rules for something before it happens. Being proactive instead of reactive. Give Baker a membership to mensa for that knowledge bomb."I think it was a big mistake by the NCAA not to do a framework around NIL when they had the opportunity to," Baker said during the Future of College Athletics Summit
And I agree 100% but the thing about it is big $$ spokes people are just like politicians. To hell with what they say just watch what they do. Had they just added team NIL caps and shared the revenue amongst ALL the players in some some sort of equitable manner I'd say it's a step in the right direction but now you see what it's turned in to. Just another $$ thing and a smoother transition for the more gifted athletes in to the world of play for pay ball. I'd say a LOT of these kids NIL $$ is well north of anything the G league will pay and the difference between G league team loyalty and college team loyalty is the diff in night and day. All about the Benjamin's baby and the NCAA knew it from day 1.That isn't what the new president of the NCAA said: "I think it was a big mistake by the NCAA not to do a framework around NIL when they had the opportunity to," Baker said during the Future of College Athletics Summit, not far from Capitol Hill. "And I think there were too many people in college sports who thought no rules would work really well for them. And what everybody's discovered is no rules, no transparency, no accountability, no framework, doesn't work well for anybody."
As expected since they were the ones who tampered with him and convinced him to decommit.Wilcher commited to St. Johns lol
Soooprise, sooooprise! $$$$$$$Wilcher commited to St. Johns lol
But what guard rails could you put in that you would be okay with implementing for ANY college sport? Only thing I see missing is transparency with NIL deals. Who's paying the student athlete and how much? Some want to put a cap on NIL money across the board. I could be okay with that put who am I to tell this business that I'm not okay with you paying player A 50k for a commercial but 15k is alright by me.The problem with NIL and portal is that it wasn't thought through, with no real guard rails.
If there was a transfer portal when Roy was coaching you don't think he would have had players leave? It’s not Hubert entirely, it’s the state of college basketball. Certainly Roy would’ve handled things differently, but alas, I’m pretty sure that’s why he’s not doing it anymore.
I don’t like to admit it but Pitino is a good coach just dirty AF…the rest is up to Wilcher…..he can be a bit unforgiving with his players…Willing to wait to see how Wilcher fits into the St. John's scheme this upcoming basketball season, then we be able to form an opinion as to whether it even matters or not.

Self is the modern day Pitino. They can both flat out coach, but there may not be any more sleezy cheaters in the history of the game.I don’t like to admit it but Pitino is a good coach just dirty AF…the rest is up to Wilcher…..he can be a bit unforgiving with his players…
FACTS!!!Self is the modern day Pitino. They can both flat out coach, but there may not be any more sleezy cheaters in the history of the game.
It's already there bro .. just takes some a little longer than others to see it. jmoOR if UNC starts compromising ethically and/or abandons the Family idea or the Carolina Way-This would cause me to change my loyalty!
MJ, Worthy and others have eligibility still. Why not? I know I am just being silly but this entire circus is a jokeI am afraid of the alternative to my optimistic view.
There is virtually no regulation on NIL and the transfer rules have become so lax that an escalation of this chaos seems likely.
Here’s a crazy idea: since college players are professionals anyway, how long todo you think it’ll be before players who left for the NBA with eligibility remaining but didn’t make it go back to college? If Justin Jackson goes another couple of years out of thr NBA, could he come back and play his last year at UNC?
