Losing to the top seed in our portion of bracket might not be overall disappointing until you see UNC was up 3-0 with like 30:00 left in gameWell another season of disappointment for the women's soccer team in the NCAA tournament losing 4 to 3 to BYU. Not sure what the future holds for Anson Dorrance since he has been coaching for 45 years and just recently signed a new 5 year contract. The semifinals has Florida State versus Clemson, and BYU versus Stanford. There will be at least one ACC team in the finals again this year.
Agree, that was tough to swallow.Losing to the top seed in our portion of bracket might not be overall disappointing until you see UNC was up 3-0 with like 30:00 left in game
Agree on bothWow this timing is definitely a surprise but you can’t beat what Anson did for Women’s Soccer at UNC!!!
Feels like what Dean did. Wait until close enough to the beginning of the season so the only option is an assistant.Wow this timing is definitely a surprise but you can’t beat what Anson did for Women’s Soccer at UNC!!!

Also, in a world where the transfer portal exists, it helped us get transfers and keep current players from leaving. Not sure exactly how much that played a role, but I'm sure he considered it.This was my other thought receiving the news. He built the soccer program based on how Dean built the basketball program so it just makes sense that he would do something to allow his top assistant to take over this season.
It will be the lead assistant for the rest of the year. As for after that, I don't really know. I would think that if Nahas does a good enough job then he would be in the lead, but UNC is probably the best job in the country so we should be able to get whoever we want.Does anyone have any insights on who they will name as the coach, or will it be an intern? Would be nice if they brought back a former player to coach, not sure who has experience that would fit the job, or who would want it.
