lol, this game knows how to stick it to ya. If I had gone with my first impulse, I would have had this one in three. But because its structure was less common to the game, I thought of what seemed a maybe more likely word for my third guess; and looking at yours I bet you chose the same word for your third. Doh!
Gosh, now that I compare our progression it looks like the words we chose could have exactly matched. You know how it is, two great minds think alike.

BS word choice on their part, IMO.
Hahaha. It seems to me that if I have multiple words to choose from with only one missing letter, I'll inevitably choose the wrong ones first.

Stupid game. I hate these. I came within a letter of pulling the winner out of my butt for my second attempt but that left me with five letters to choose from; and I ended up needing to guess right on the final one to keep from going blank.

I was in the same place as you with several letters to fill in the lone missing space and just got lucky this time.
As far as looking over yours and @prlyles shoulders, against my better judgement I’ll reveal my secret. If you cross your fingers and look cross-eyed while chanting five Hare Krishnas and hover your mouse over someone’s pasted Wordle results, the actual words will appear where the colored blocks are.
