That is amazing. What were the two letters that were in the wrong slots in your initial word?

I often start with 'adieu', so the letters were D and E. That makes O the only vowel left, so I assume I now have O, D, and E to work with. E of course is more often than not at the end, so that probable ending E just has to work with O and D. Still, it was just a lucky shot in the dark.

I actually decided after my second guess that doubles were likely in play. I just kept picking the wrong pair.

I really enjoy breaking these down occasionally, as well as commiserating about the unfairness, and sharing hatred of this annoying waste of time.. I prefer waiting until the answer officially comes out before revealing actual words or strong hints, just to keep from spoiling anyone else's fun. I mean, we know there are lurkers, right? Ha ha.
