It's a quote from his dad and PJ retweeted it so the report is likely actually accurate this time .
Evan Daniels reported yesterday that he would sign in the early period. TIFWIW
That would be my guess too, Mike. I think he prefers PJ but will take Vandy as plan B. He wants to get his '17 class rolling. If Vandy were to commit, I think we land PJ.
Dave I do agree with some of what you are saying, but Cal is a great recruiter. He can get three or four kids to commit that would play the same position. He has been there done that. On the other side of that coin... hes a horrible coach! "Money makes the world go round" Thats what these kids and parents are looking for. Ky=NBA. I loath even saying some of these things, but they are true. He can get both of them to commit. Will he? I hope not because Roy is busting his tail for this kid.As my buddy Ken so loves to say, "there is a fly in that buttermilk". ALL I have heard from this board since PJ let it be known he was attending Kys late night is that Kal had this one wrapped up,l not even bothering to add that was opinion, it has been stated as absolute fact for the last week, solid. Now I ask, a kid that you are not sweating, a kid that you are a mile out ion front of and pulling further away with each passing day, there is no need to push him, absolutely zero need to push a kid like that.
IMO, the dumbest thing you could do would be to bring in another 5 star that platys your same position for a visit. I mean think, if all the head lines were about how UNC had PJ locked up, game over, how would YOU feel if Roy took and official visit from Vanderbilt? I for one would be screaming why take that risk when you don't need to!!! Why give PJ any reason to re-consider, you a mile pout front, you don't take that risk. But if you don't know or if you feel you may be slipping for PJ, or worse if all those headlines were from your hype machine and did not reflect what at this point is very likely only known to PJ and his family, well then you work on your back up plan.
Calipari is selling one of the great scam hustles of all time. He goes after OAD kids who could get to the damned NBA from the University of Peoria Bible College and then claims he "puts" them in the league. And then he reinforces this circular concoction with his "combines". And with magpies at ESPN pumping the myth and since so many of these kids know each other thru AAU, it takes on a "cool" factor for kids with their heads already blown full of smoke.Dave I do agree with some of what you are saying, but Cal is a great recruiter.
