This is what folks seem to miss. 80% of this team’s good shots are coming from EC making a play happen, many of which only he can see/execute. He has to take chances because for the most part everyone is standing still and there is obviously little to no inside out pressure on the defense. This was my point, too. Whether we're talking about EC making "questionable" passes or RJ over-dribbling, if their teammates aren't getting open, what choices do they have?
Our recruiting pitch could be, "Hey. I know you play in a better conference, have way more nil money, and make a ton more money than we can pay you but... we are Carolina!"I'm on the Oats or Burce Pearl bandwagon. I have always like Bruce Pearl, but he is older and for a long term solution i like Oats.
Our talent is better than our record! While these aren't the only possibilities, they look like the main ones...
Either
We are a top tier team (in a weak conference) but we are under-performing,
or
We are a middle-of-the-pack team and we're doing the best we can.
Which of those is more correct could determine whether Hubert gets to stay coach.
Which do you think is more true?
Coach Rob had a 42.7% W-L record at FSU and his only winning season came in the first year with the team he inherited. As I have been saying for 3 years, Davis can't coach. He should have kept Robinson.
This was my point, too. Whether we're talking about EC making "questionable" passes or RJ over-dribbling, if their teammates aren't getting open, what choices do they have?Cadeau has a terrible dilemma. He is a pass first first point guard, precisely why Hubert recruited him after the RJ/Caleb experience. Who can he pass to? RJ and Ian have defenders all over them, Drake seems to have lost his starting position, Seth is having shooting struggles, J Wash is out with an injury... The defenders are also guarding Elliot more closely this year. I can can't say how Elliot feels but I can say that I would be unbelievably frustrated if I was in his position.
