Quick stuff (dook game)...

Rules? There are no rules anymore. It's a complete free-for-all in college athletics now if you want to win.

Y'all asked for this environment - "players should get a piece of the pie!" This inevitably was the way it was going. Can't have it both ways. Nice guys finish last as Hubert demonstrates game by game.
I agree with you 💯
In regards to Sampson I was talking University rules and state laws that he was allowing his players to skirt by unattended.
To be fair, IU got roasted and had their program set back a decade be ause of " Text messages "?
The rest of corrupt college basketball was sitting back like 😏🤭

My perception of coach Kelvin Sampson from afar was always very high, and continues to be in regards to his coaching acumen.
Living in Southern Indiana though I have relationships with Indiana alumni and donors, as well as people within the inner circle that paint a much more harrowing picture of Sampson off the court.
He ran a Rouge basketball program at IU, deficient of many rules and ethics we hold as standards at Carolina.
His players were allowed to skirt rules and many were unbecoming college students.
I don't know how much Sampson learned from his time at Indiana and what he allowed to take place, let alone his obvious breaking of NCAA rules. ( Those seem silly in light of what has been allowed last 20 years) but he seems to run a tight ship at Houston.
From afar of course
Taking this into consideration and Sampsons age, I would be a hard pass on him as our next coach.
I think his age and all that Houston has invested as far as facilities and such in the last few years, he isn't going anywhere.
I think you would be wasting that hour of your life.

If you had to choose, if it was your call to make who's number you dialing?

Because I'm not saying this in a negative way toward you but you and also few others here like to call any coach or team that isn't Carolina cheaters or used car salesmen.

So honest question who is your guy?
IF a HC change is going to happen, T. J. Otzelberger? Would he be able to do more with less? Sorry Gary, not speaking for you but had to say this name, going out on a limb here... Would he actually be a good get for the UNC bball program if a true, high profile candidate is out of the question? Another question, will Bill Belichick actually play an active role if a HC change is required? Surely HD will get another season for a couple of reasons but mainly the Caleb W get, could be part of his short term, life line...

Did Carolina Bottom Out at Duke?

It's a great question. From the outside it seems like the final score being less embarrassing would make it less of a bottom but the real question is does the feeling of utter helplessness that the team must have felt in the first 3 quarters make them more determined to change things moving forward or more resigned to a lost season. From what we've seen so far it's hard not to expect the latter.

Thank you, D. I agree that Hubert deserves at least another season, especially if Carolina finishes the season
in a way that demonstrates he is incorporating much more verticality in our offensive schemes and multiplicity
in our defensive approach.
However, I am not a fan of Kelvin Sampson, nor his thugball approach.
How do you explain/take comfort in it taking 23 games to try a zone? It's not like they've been good according to his own assessment. Every season under Hubert has started with super casual switching that is eventually abandoned due to failure but it took even longer this year it seems.

Cade Tyson

So as of now it's fair to say CT was a miss. Could this change? If you look at his historic, body of work, he seems more like a streaky shooter that CAN light it up but with less demanding competition. I was skeptical about the investment but honestly, I thought due to my limited experience and knowledge, I just second guessed myself and then became excited about the potential of having a game changing shooter added to this team. Is it possible he could develop into a major contributor or will he be a designated practice asset OR, will he be shown the door? Will adding some quality inside presence possibly change his level of contribution? I think adding a quality big or two will help EC really shine and help increase the contribution of others?

Glad to reply:

1) Would you give Hubert the 25/26 season to begin the return of Carolina hoops to a top level?
As I have shared multiple times now, I am slightly swayed to giving Hubert at least 1 m,ore season. I have addressed several times why, please allow me to not re[pat that now, my thinking has not changed. I want to wait til we have played our last game this season and re-consider this.

Now if I am Bubba, I have already been making use of back channels to gauge interest from coaches that may be more ready to take on a job like ours. If I pull the trigger on Hubert, there is zero chance I would not already have the replacement guy already lined up and ready, it can not be a long drawn out process.

2) If you would not (and you can roleplay Bubba C), who would you realistically* choose as our HC?
Oh if only! LOL My first contact and honestly, I don't think I would have to make another phone call, no shock, it would be to Kelvin Sampson. Give me an hour to sit down with Kelvin and he would be our next head coach, not a single doubt in my mind, no matter how big the check had to be. I would never need to call Jay Wright or Mark Few.
