Stanford vs UNC game thread on: Saturday 17 January 2025

Another west coast team comes to Chapel Hill and they bring a 7’1, 245 man child who is averaging close to the 20 point per game average and he possesses both an inside and outside game. They also have a ex Dukie sharpshooter who also scores in double digits.

Like the California game earlier in the week the game will come down to Carolina slowing down their star and if the Cardinals can somehow slow down the Tar Heels scoring on so many easy fast break baskets…

Washington and Lubin will have their hands full so I would not be surprised at all if Withers also sees some time in the paint because he also carries 245 pounds on his frame.

Most people have Carolina favored by 11 plus points but I do believe UNC will only prevail by 6 to 9 points…We will see

A Complete Unknown

We saw what must have been the prior or next show on that tour, at the Mudcats stadium in Zebulon. Went more for Dylan but agree Willie totally outshined him that evening. Bob really didn't seem like he was even trying to actually sing, just monotoned everything, and didn't engage with the audience at all. Willie was the total opposite, sounded great and had a vibe going with the crowd.

My wife also saw Dylan in the late '90s and said he was great at that show. 🤷‍♂️

But totally agree the songwriting, lyrics, influence, and social relevance is where Dylan's greatness lies, not in his singing or stage presence.
I saw Dylan & The Band in Atlanta in '74, awesome concert.

Caleb Wilson to announce Thursday, January 23rd

I know that there are those who hate the 5 out offense and Bama's coach in general on this site, but they space the floor and attack so well. Very entertaining game. High octane big boy basketball.

I got Bama plus the 2.5 points, so I do have a rooting interest in this one. 😆
You know, the funny thing is, I never have had any ill will toward Alabama at all until they started beating us at everything. They beat us in recruiting and they beat us on the court. I don't mind their coach. He's fiery but I have not paid enough attention to him to know much more than he wins.

I think about what our program might look like with Stevenson and Omouryi on this year's team. Maybe WE'd be ranked number four?

I'm watching Kentucky and Bama wishing BOTH teams could lose.

I can't get excited about recruiting until we get back to winning one or two.

Stackhouse

Stackhouse reminds me of Juwan Howard, for some reason. They were exceptional players, but they lack the necessary skills to be a good coach. Great coaches always seem to have been so-so players at best.

Being a great coach seems to require a different skill set from just being a great player. It's difficult to coach kids.

Stackhouse

Stackhouse’s stint at Vanderbilt was a clear case of..wrong place / wrong time. Plus who wants to play for Vandi?? Stacks well-known brand resonates extremely well with todays recruits; couple that with the UNC name and you got something cooking folks. While Hubert is a pleasant individual, he lacks the ability to provoke as effectively as Stack could. Wes Miller (who da fuc is dat guy?) Sorry Wes doesn’t bring anything special to the table! Yes good coach but His image is more akin to the stale outdated practices of the past.

In this NIL era, individuals must be prepared to challenge conventional norms…and not take any bs while doing so.

I do like HD and honestly this is more of a NIL issue, not a coaching issue. Roy bounced cause he saw what was coming and he didn’t want any part of it. I hope HD finishes strong and some how surprise us all but if not give me Stack!

You and CokeForRoy are smoking some of that good shit.
