Just to play devil's advocate, does that also mean that he has nothing to do with the lack of "developing " of others? Is it their lack of "drive, make up, & want to" not Hubert ?
Just to play devil's advocate, does that also mean that he has nothing to do with the lack of "developing " of others? Is it their lack of "drive, make up, & want to" not Hubert ?I’m a Hubert fan & mostly in his camp (even though I think Wes is probably the guy), but he had nothing to do with developing RJ or Seth, their “drive, make up, & want to” is the reason they are improved, not Hubert.
Don’t forget his quote that Styles and Dunn would be two of the best to play here by the time they get done.I'm not here to defend Hubert and say he's this or that... But RJ developed into a pretty good basketball player under Hubert. Seth certainly has developed under Hubert. So I don't think it's accurate to say guys just fail to develop under him. If you want to blame him for the lack of development of Washington or Withers, then fine. I tend to think Washington is a limited player and Withers has been the same player the last 4 seasons so being the same player for this season isn't all that surprising.
I think Hubert's biggest issue when it comes to personnel is he's a mediocre at best talent evaluator. If we're being honest, the vast majority of people overrated Elliot Cadeau in terms of how quickly he would impact UNC basketball. He's a fine player who is developing. There's nothing wrong with that. But he isn't the player that he was advertised as. And Hubert said before this season that that Cadeau would be "unrecognizable" this season. Idk, a lot of his game is pretty recognizable to me, lol.
Now, I tend to think Hubert is one of those people that just overemphasizes positives and that can make some of your quotes sound rather stupid in the future. But this is what he said about some of the players.
Cadeau before this season:
“You won’t recognize him this year. He's worked extremely hard this summer,” said Davis. “He's consistently knocking down threes, mid-range jump shots. The level that I've seen is just the progression of maturity and the leadership. It's just off the charts.”
Withers:
“Jae’Lyn is a versatile big man who can do a number of things really well on both ends of the court. He can consistently make three-pointers, run the floor, post up, attack the offense and create plays off the bounce. He is also an excellent defender and rebounder, exactly what we were looking for at that position. He is a North Carolina kid and we are glad he is back home.”
Wojcik:
“Paxson is a talented basketball player who excels at doing everything on the court at a high level,” Davis said. “He brings consistent perimeter shooting, rebounding and passing from the wing. He will be a great leader for us. We are excited to have Paxson as part of the Carolina Basketball family.”
Washington:
"He's the best shooting big man coming out of high school that I've ever seen."
If those quotes come with a kernel of truth to them, he's a poor talent evaluator. I know the offseason is a time to be irrationally positive, but some of those are lol-worthy.
the link isn't very inclusive for me either.?
Is the joke that I click on it and it comes back with nothing and says blocked?

yeah I have to agree with you there. Considering all the f'ed up crap that has happened under this admin, I don't know how it can be anything less than the biggest story out there...except it isn't any longer for those of us who knew the score all along. Maybe the bigger story, and the more important consideration, is how can people be so absolutely stupid and oblivious as to not have seen there was a problem. And that's not even with allowing that Biden was an absolute zero even before he began staining the White House, in both literal and figurative terms..Having the most important person/job in the world handled by someone who is two or three quarts short and literally everyone around them not only knows it, but covers it up and lies to everyone else claiming that he is running at top efficiency doesn't qualify as one of the biggest scandals? I mean, who actually is our president? Who has and is running things for the next month?
I do agree with the lack of movement and it making it difficult but several tos are just too much. Someone used the analogy of KISS which is really simple but very much in play even with higher athletics. And yes being to pg usually means you get back first or cover runouts but some guards rebound better than others no matter where they play. As far as the lack of bigs I agree. We’ve had way too many assists missed because of it too. lol I thought for sure that Gary would have eluded to it for this past game. At one time RJ could have had around four or five in a row, but had no finish from the post or fumble. EC tooIsn’t it understandable that a lack of an offensive plan leading to no movement and total predictability for the defense makes a passing PG’s job exponentially harder? Add to that a lack of bigs who can catch and finish consistently along with EC not being at his best and what else would you expect? We saw last year players (better and more experienced ones at that) have to adjust to playing with EC so that makes the lack of rotational consistency a bigger issue as well. Also part of the PGs responsibility is defensive balance so he shouldn’t be in the paint mixing it up for rebounds at least on the offensive side.

Apparently, you're a couple weeks behind as everyone has passed on Gaetz. Pam Bondi is going to be AG.Gaetz sounds like a fun guy to
Party with. But I’ll pass on him being AG
“Biggest scandal in America”? Lol“CNN's Scott Jennings criticized the White House for hiding President Biden's health and age issues from the public in a segment on Thursday. “
‘“This is the biggest scandal in America," Jennings said on CNN. "And the level and volume of people who dedicated themselves to lying to everyone at home about this man’s condition for four-straight years up through this summer is breathtaking."’
“A Wall Street Journal report from Thursday that includes interviews with nearly 50 people, including current and former White House staffers who interacted directly with the president, revealed that Biden's stamina issues were apparent even during his first few months in office.”
One of the biggest coverups in our history. The “party of transparency”. Riiiiiiiiiight.
