A nostalgic 1989 reminder to Coach Davis and Coach Lebo...

Why would two former players who were coached by one of the greatest basketball minds and who saw firsthand the success he had ever stray away from the blueprint he left for those that came after him?
You have people that have spent every moment of their life after playing, while coaching as an assist or sitting around as a fan and thinking, I could do it better or I would do it this way or that way and then when they get the shot they do all the things they thought was better and find out that coach they watched for year did what they did for a reason.

That is the only explanation of why they would go away from what they know and have seen work.

Hubert Davis

When I talk about his shooting is trending up, realize, I am talk about shooting from distance, treys, his mid range is really strong now. Shooting from a distance was a negative for BOTH Drake and Jack going in to their senior high school seasons, especially Drake's. But we see them now and few seem to complain about them as shooters? They have progressed pretty darn well and that began going into their senior high school seasons. Wilson's form is not bad, just a part of his game he didn't have to work on until now.
Understand I had read somewhere too that his shot is very much a work in progress

Portal crap I mean news

What’s the deal with Rice? Was he overhyped or what? He can’t seem to sniff the field much less a starting spot. As bad as the oline has been you would think he could get some PT. Now BB and crew are bringing in quite a few transfers for the oline it seems less likely he will play. Wouldn’t be surprised if he transfers in the spring.

A real debate question—which is better playing two bigs or staying with the spread offense

I cannot be the only one thinking about this especially when Carolina is constantly losing rebounds allowing opponents to have numerous opportunities to score.

Personally I prefer the two big approach where year in and year out UNC was one of the leaders in rebounding nationally compared to this year where they are close to the bottom in rebounding.

The spread offense with four shooters and one big has worked recently with Baylor and Miami as they both got to the final four because they had Big Athletic elite shooters but Carolina does not have that luxury of elite shooters.

Maybe it is just me but I would rather have closer shots to the basket from the bigs with a chance of getting a rebound than a barrage of shots from Franklin street. Carolina has enough brick layers so why may things more difficult than it needs to be…
It is neither a legitimate debate nor even a dichotomy. You don't need two Bigs to play inside-out and vertical, and 5-out is unsound YMCA garbage.

W Nyla Brooks
6-1 | Bishop Ireton (Virginia) | Boo Williams | North Carolina
ESPNW ranking: 20

Brooks is a slashing wing with a knack for a pull-up jumper. Over her high school career, she became more of a consistent 3-point threat, rising among the class. Brooks uses her length on the glass and on defense very well. Her ability to create space for the pull-up jumper separates her.

Brooks will bring a scoring punch to the perimeter for Courtney Banghart and the Tar Heels. This will provide some balance as they have been strong inside and can utilize Brooks' ability to score off the bounce to their advantage.

...and I'll add something else --- a (rhetorical) question to Hubert and Jeff and everyone here:

Ask yourselves what would've happened in that clip if Pete HADN'T rim-run and posted?

Answer: Not a damn thing and the possession would've started from scratch --- which is PRECISELY what we're getting off secondary action with the current 5-out surround nonsense.
