Rams Club

I went to the Rams Club site to do my annual membership dues, but it had other options to support not the usual pay your membership level. The upgrade your membership also just had contact the Rams Club office. ...no payment link to upgrade my status.

WTF is going on with the Rams Club? Has the old model been blown up over NIL, etc?

Very little stuff (Pitt game)...

Cadeau has a terrible dilemma. He is a pass first first point guard, precisely why Hubert recruited him after the RJ/Caleb experience. Who can he pass to? RJ and Ian have defenders all over them, Drake seems to have lost his starting position, Seth is having shooting struggles, J Wash is out with an injury... The defenders are also guarding Elliot more closely this year. I can can't say how Elliot feels but I can say that I would be unbelievably frustrated if I was in his position.

New rumors of UNC to SEC

I read an article today where there are rumors of ESPN pushing UNC to the SEC as soon as possible. Something like $55M/year in TV money for us to make the move likely with UVa. The article said news might come out next week.

Now, if ESPN revises the ACC TV contract by writing us out of it, that could nullify the GoR. Also, they might sweeten the deal for the ACC by keeping it as is or a bit higher in payout which means more per ACC school (losing 2 schools) to make the UNC/UVa escape happen.

The athletic dept has to decide what they want… either:

a) best coach right now, available and willing
b) best young coach to develop long term and grow with the program.

These should have been the basic guidelines after Roy, but instead Bubba went for:

z) a 50yr old work experience guy whom everyone loves but is totally unproven.

So, hoping they don’t go for option z) again, here are a few names to ponder:

They also have limited offensive players.

Cadeau is an inconsistent limited offensive player and he doesn’t have enough offensively gifted players around him for the “he makes everyone around him better” to make that big of a difference with this team.

Seth’s efficiency has tanked post concussion. He isn’t scoring unless he gets to the FT line. Fortunately he’s getting there but late game but he’s entering liability range from 3PT territory. And he was always a limited offensive player.

Pitt made a good defensive adjustment. You can freely switch ball screens against UNC and simply help off of Cadeau and Seth, whichever is on the strongside wing.

It’s a difficult route to effective offense if Cadeau and Seth are 0 shooters. The only other option is for this team to get a ton of offensive rebounds but that clearly isn’t going to happen this season.

It’s a limited team to begin with. Then add that some players are struggling. And a HC who doesn’t look like he has solutions.

A team problem and no one should be excused.

I think people are definitely blaming Roy Williams. Do I think Hubert would have been the coach if it were not for Roy williams? Probably not. But, I certainly have no problems with Roy Williams and his role at North Carolina. If that includes having Hubert Davis as the coach, I'm not all that bummed out about it. I guess I focus too much on the good things that have happened since he's been the coach.

yeah .. our small guards, and lack of overall size has been a glaring, and exploited, problem all season. And the way it has been coached or used is likely even worse. I didn't even watch the game last night cause I like Carolina bball and unfortunately it's been missing here lately .. sad but true ..

I blame Roy for putting his personal objectives ahead of the program and pushing for Hubert to be hired. There is no way he thought that this was the best hire for UNC, but it was the best hire for the good ol boy system.

One thing I am gonna be interested in is the series of books and leaks that ultimately come out regarding the last administration. I am not defending Joe in any respect, because he should just not have been there for quite awhile, but I do think it's going to eventually become clear to even the most ardent D supporters that our former president was not at all present and was completely and totally mislead/misinformed/led around by his staffers.

That is, he was a figure head and signing things, but the people behind him were really setting and controlling the agenda. If you look at the encounter Speaker Johnson relayed the other day that it was clear to him that Joe had signed something far different from what the man believed it was, it really makes you wonder about what they told him versus what they were doing. Some scary stuff is likely to come out.

Lubin's missed point blank spin out after his dime was the nail in the coffin. Seth had a chance to keep a last gasp alive, missed semi contested point blank and tip after. Ball game.

Had a chance for a huge road win, was anemic down the stretch. Dook looms.

@strummingram is still around, just not so much here. He's been posting on the BB coaching threads and, of course, the music stuff. I think @prlyles is still a regular with the wordle addiction. Noir, well, they'll probably just find a dehydrated corpse in his mom's basement one day.
