Roy Williams

You actually think Hubert would be the coach if Roy didnt pompom for him?

No one is blaming Roy, and for what he meant to the program I have no issue with him picking his successor, but now that we see what a disaster that was I dont think he should be allowed to pick another one. Shouldnt be a controversial take
I think people are definitely blaming Roy Williams. Do I think Hubert would have been the coach if it were not for Roy williams? Probably not. But, I certainly have no problems with Roy Williams and his role at North Carolina. If that includes having Hubert Davis as the coach, I'm not all that bummed out about it. I guess I focus too much on the good things that have happened since he's been the coach.

Very little stuff (Pitt game)...

RJ played fairly well, down the stretch nobody could get a look and his lack of size as the bail out option was a killer.
yeah .. our small guards, and lack of overall size has been a glaring, and exploited, problem all season. And the way it has been coached or used is likely even worse. I didn't even watch the game last night cause I like Carolina bball and unfortunately it's been missing here lately .. sad but true ..

I blame Roy for putting his personal objectives ahead of the program and pushing for Hubert to be hired. There is no way he thought that this was the best hire for UNC, but it was the best hire for the good ol boy system.

OOTB's Political Thread . ..

the actual criminal here is the POS who purposely allowed the requirements of granting asylum to be circumvented in order to let in hordes of foreigners who were not at all properly considered as asylum seekers or even at all properly vetted as acceptable human beings.

The joke is that the next 'authoritative' list of worst/best presidents will place him at or near the top of the 'best' ranking. The truth is that until Biden, I didn't think anyone would ever displace LBJ as the worst president ever. Congrats Joe, you disgusting vermin, you dethroned the former biggest rat's ass president.
One thing I am gonna be interested in is the series of books and leaks that ultimately come out regarding the last administration. I am not defending Joe in any respect, because he should just not have been there for quite awhile, but I do think it's going to eventually become clear to even the most ardent D supporters that our former president was not at all present and was completely and totally mislead/misinformed/led around by his staffers.

That is, he was a figure head and signing things, but the people behind him were really setting and controlling the agenda. If you look at the encounter Speaker Johnson relayed the other day that it was clear to him that Joe had signed something far different from what the man believed it was, it really makes you wonder about what they told him versus what they were doing. Some scary stuff is likely to come out.

Very little stuff (Pitt game)...

Shot it lights out in the 1st half (6-12 from3/ I think 55% overall), but only up by 2 at the half, bad sign. Pitt extended on dee in 2nd half (1 -12 from 3 ouch).

Elliot played really well, but 2 silly diving fouls on loose balls, and the ill advised dime considering time, score, target was a killer. Really was a key if not the key play. You can't try to thread that needle with that game scenario. As a point you have to know who you are throwing it to as well. Tough catch low on the run for any big, but Lubin not good hands to start with no chance he catches that unless it's perfect. Poor situation awareness.

RJ played fairly well, down the stretch nobody could get a look and his lack of size as the bail out option was a killer. Pitt had him covered with long defenders. Lubin's missed point blank spin out after his dime was the nail in the coffin. Seth had a chance to keep a last gasp alive, missed semi contested point blank and tip after. Ball game.

Had a chance for a huge road win, was anemic down the stretch. Dook looms.
I think we don't get good looks late because we don't work to find open shooters, the only one on the floor that will man up and take a shot when no one else takes charge is RJ and every team knows this.

Rarely do you see us swinging the ball around the key to get the defense moving. One time last night Pitt made 3 passes around the key and the first pass made for an open shot and every pass after that the look got better and better, we don't do that.

We allow the other team to guard us watch them they is very little moving without the ball lots of standing around watching.

OOTB's Political Thread . ..

Looks like Heels Noir, Strummin, and prlyles have all deleted their accounts on THI. Probably over at https://zzlpolitics.com/forums/politics-other-topics.2/ to whine and cry with the rest of the losers.

@strummingram is still around, just not so much here. He's been posting on the BB coaching threads and, of course, the music stuff. I think @prlyles is still a regular with the wordle addiction. Noir, well, they'll probably just find a dehydrated corpse in his mom's basement one day.

When blaming and bashing Hubert just doesn't do it for ya... hell, blame Roy Williams, too.

UNC has some spoiled rotten fans. I guess all schools have them on some level.

If...

I'd want someone that has proven they can get to the NCAA Tournament final, the ACC Tournament final, and has won, at least, a regular season title, and preferably gotten recognized as Coach of the Year. And, they need to have done all those things in less than 3 years.

Can you find someone like that, is the question!
Just avoid hiring a coach who misses making the big dance half the time (very likely) and averages double digit losses.

6’10” James Brown

He does look like he is really nervous but in the end they didn’t coach him up and that’s on the staff

Had they really worked with him they could of got 6 minutes a game out of a 6 10 guy

Instead he’s boxing out nobody standing right slap in the middle of everything not even getting a hand on the ball

The season is over it’s auditioning time if you ask me

Don't recall you saying this when Hubert was hired. But its nice to see you finally developed some standards for this program!
