Dear Bubba, As we have discussed (or you may see as me ranting), college football is about 10 times more valuable than college basketball. That mean's it is about 10 times more valuable to the entire athletics department if the football program is a perennially ranked, widely acknowledged National Power than if the basketball program is so acknowledged. Given that FACT, which UNC has been ignoring since the close of the hoo Cho days, it is a given that now UNC must not waste money on basketball, not un til football reaches the upper echelon of the sport. So keep Hubert, who is a decent man, and just accept mediocrity for a while. Please direct all complaints to Bubba and plead with him to fire Hubert so we can get the program at least moving in the right direction with a coach that has the experience and ability to manage and coach a program at this level.
this ^^^I think we don't get good looks late because we don't work to find open shooters, the only one on the floor that will man up and take a shot when no one else takes charge is RJ and every team knows this.
Rarely do you see us swinging the ball around the key to get the defense moving. One time last night Pitt made 3 passes around the key and the first pass made for an open shot and every pass after that the look got better and better, we don't do that.
We allow the other team to guard us watch them they is very little moving without the ball lots of standing around watching.
Lots of confusion in those answers!what a clown
oh i agree…but they’re entitled now more than ever…maybe hubert isn’t willing to do the “blue steel” approach because it would look even worse for him…roy had the skins when he did that and also kids weren’t leaving a program after a semester like they are now.If they're not listening they need to be pulled .. regardless of name or seniority. That's on the coach.
Thanks for sharing this work, really good peice even though the resulting data is telling. I watched the post game interview with HD following the Pitt game. You asked him about this lack of end game performance and his response was interesting. He has to know this already but didnt seem to acknowledge or want to address this specific issue for some reason. This problem you've revealed has become a storyline, nationally and HD will certainly want to get ahead of it or at least have a reasonable explanation. It seems like a tough task to press him on this data tho. He seems like such a nice guy, a great person but I wonder if there is enough humility to own it and answer with at least some honesty.I am actually making it public in a minute. It's too important for only a few UNC fans to see.
If they're not listening they need to be pulled .. regardless of name or seniority. That's on the coach.i don’t know who said it or where, but is it possible the players aren’t listening and dgaf about his “style”?…i’m so sick of rj putting up ridiculous shots.
i say that because sometimes i’ll watch hubert and he’s yelling and screaming about someone not moving or screening, whatever, then they either do/don’t or the shot is already in the air…the whole situation is f’d up and infuriating.
I'm hearing you and agreeing for the most part about who was pulling most of the strings, but my contention is that Joe had his own separate hidden agenda and as long as he could further that, he was happy to let the puppetmasters do about whatever they wanted. No doubt his bumbling was no act, but that bumbling was a distraction from what was really going on with him. He was out to 1) cap off his political career and 2) profit from his position...and it looks like he did so very handsomely. THAT is what I hope will come out some day, backed with substantial evidence. One thing I am gonna be interested in is the series of books and leaks that ultimately come out regarding the last administration. I am not defending Joe in any respect, because he should just not have been there for quite awhile, but I do think it's going to eventually become clear to even the most ardent D supporters that our former president was not at all present and was completely and totally mislead/misinformed/led around by his staffers.
That is, he was a figure head and signing things, but the people behind him were really setting and controlling the agenda. If you look at the encounter Speaker Johnson relayed the other day that it was clear to him that Joe had signed something far different from what the man believed it was, it really makes you wonder about what they told him versus what they were doing. Some scary stuff is likely to come out.
Hubert was ACC coach of the year last year and part of that list. Just saying? The athletic dept has to decide what they want… either:
a) best coach right now, available and willing
b) best young coach to develop long term and grow with the program.
These should have been the basic guidelines after Roy, but instead Bubba went for:
z) a 50yr old work experience guy whom everyone loves but is totally unproven.
So, hoping they don’t go for option z) again, here are a few names to ponder:

Have shared this many times now, my call
He would cost a ton, worth it in my opinion, and for the "Carolina Style" crowd he ain't it. Hubert is not going anywhere for next year, but for many that scream "run this Dean UNC style", Kelvin is not it. I would love him as the choice, but he's bringing his style, and it does work! So does other styles, but Kelvin has his, I could only imagine the "why aren't you doing what worked with Dean" comments we would hear if they pay enough to get him.Have shared this many times now, my call would go to Kelvin Sampson.
