I just want to shout out this guy. Getting paid $700k to hit the side of the backboard on almost all his 3 ball attempts. That is incredibly hard to do guys.

Once again, that is simply wrong. If Hubert from the beginning had simply taken the multiple defensive approach (as in this game's 2nd half), stayed away from the garbage/fad 5-out crap, and simply utilized the Secondary Break he was taught, this is (at worst) a 3-4 loss team ranked in the top 10-12 as we speak.I think the idea that the solutions are on this roster just isn't the case. Some zone may have appeared to work in the 2H, but zone isn't realistic for a team that goes 6'0", 5'11", and 6'4". Unless that's more of an attacking zone. Also, this team is tiny and bad in the frontcourt so you expose yourself to offensive rebounding.
Regarding high octane pressure all game... Also, this team isn't deep right? When they start 4 guards, they don't have a backup guard on the bench, lol. Then factor in that Elliot Cadeau is averaging 5 fouls/40 minutes against top 100 opponents. If you can absolutely guarantee that Cadeau won't get into foul trouble, then maybe but then this team has no depth. I don't know how sustainable that is.
Also, this team ranks 317th in the country in defensive turnover percentage. I think it's expecting a lot for that to suddenly change.
It's also 20+ games into the season. You're not going to reinvent the wheel and completely alter the way this team plays unless they have a talent upgrade on the bench somewhere (like when PJ Hairston started over Desmond Hubert). That doesn't exist on this team. They've probably practiced believing in their system for 20+ games and they're not going to change everything because they have 4-5 days off.
Maybe they can implement some of those things more, but they're trapped because they're really small and quite frankly, they're not good. There's only so much you can do when you're not any good.
Don't get me wrong. I think they can close the season stacking some wins because they get Pitt and Duke at home. Maybe they shoot the ball well at Clemson. There are paths where this team can win 7 or 8 games to close out the reg season IMO. It's not going to change my overall feelings about this team. They are what they are. To expect sudden consistency and quality is rather hopeful.
Credit to you being more optimistic than I am. It's a resolution I've already given up on in 2025, lol.
Sampson is a cheater who coaches thug-ball. I would quite literally stop watching UNC basketball if he was hired here. Period. My perception of coach Kelvin Sampson from afar was always very high, and continues to be in regards to his coaching acumen.
Living in Southern Indiana though I have relationships with Indiana alumni and donors, as well as people within the inner circle that paint a much more harrowing picture of Sampson off the court.
He ran a Rouge basketball program at IU, deficient of many rules and ethics we hold as standards at Carolina.
His players were allowed to skirt rules and many were unbecoming college students.
I don't know how much Sampson learned from his time at Indiana and what he allowed to take place, let alone his obvious breaking of NCAA rules. ( Those seem silly in light of what has been allowed last 20 years) but he seems to run a tight ship at Houston.
From afar of course
Taking this into consideration and Sampsons age, I would be a hard pass on him as our next coach.
I think his age and all that Houston has invested as far as facilities and such in the last few years, he isn't going anywhere.
I think you would be wasting that hour of your life.
Here's one that came up in my feed. This was a really interesting sound.I saw that years ago... maybe 10 or so. I don't remember how I came across it. I think it was from another bluegrass band playing rock n roll covers with bluegrass arrangements. They're pretty fun to watch. The banjo player is using a flat pick... pretty unorthodox. Then again, so are ACDC songs set to bluegrass arrangements.
I like it in reverse, too. Softer/slower tempo songs turned into harder, faster arrangements.
