Something worse than 8-3

F$U’s Jordan Travis appears to be lost for the season. I’d say that would be worse than being 8-3 to me. Undefeated, ranked #4, probable CFP team; then your big time QB has a season ending injury against an FCS team. Ugh, They may or may not make the CFP but their chances of even making the CFP just got pretty bad and their chance to win in the CFP just completely evaporated.

Discussion
To begin the toughest pre-Christmas stretch of schedule in memory, UNC hosted a feisty, 10th-ranked Tennessee team, and the offensive fireworks were on display. UNC shot an excellent 43% from behind the arc, taking a whopping 46% of its shots from there. Throw in 18 trips to the FT line for 1+1 or 2 shots, shooting 84%, and you get a team scoring 1.14 points per possession. It was the 64th best offensive display we've seen from the Heels in the last 998 games.

And then there was defense. UNC allowed 1.12 points per possession, a level on 31 teams have bested in the last 998 games. Tennessee shot 74% from inside the arc, and we have never seen a team shoot that well against us. We are lucky we had success at the FT line, because it saved us from likely the largest collapse in school history.

Conference Championship Games

Liberty beats New Mexico St 49-35. Liberty is 13-0 and may well get a New Years Day Bowl. Tuona abating SMU might get theniod over undefeated Liberty for the G5 slot, but if SMU knocks off Tulane, undefeated Liberty should get the nod.

More interesting to me than that is that 1st year liberty HC Jamey Chadwell now has coached the best seasons of both 1A schools he's been at: Liberty and Coastal Carolina. he will be aq Major conference HC before long, as in by the 2025 season.

FSU at UNC game thread—-Saturday 2 December 2023

The gauntlet continues as the always pesky FSU team comes to the Dean Center. I like many fear there might be a letdown after that emotional win over Tennessee three days ago. Carolina cannot be looking past FSU to UConn who by the way lost a nail bitter at Kansas last night…This game will be on the ESPN ACC network and I know everybody does not have that channel so I will try and keep you updated with constant scores and tidbits of the game…Either way give em HELL Heels…
