Jets RB Michael Carter Said He Feels 'Amazing Coming Into This Season'

After an emotional season in the NFL filled with ups and downs, running back Michael Carter has cleared his mind going into training camp and is primed for a big season. "I was playing good ball at times last season but there were moments I could have played better. I feel amazing coming into this season. I see what everyone is saying, and I am grinding." (New York Jets)

2024 NFL Draft Player Profile: UNC Quarterback Drake Maye

If you dig the long ball, grinding the tape on Maye should be your new favorite pastime. He offers easy gas, good touch vertically, and has very good ability to pace the football into holes against zone. He routinely beats the safety on seams and go-routes. I have enjoyed when he’s put throws on the back shoulder up the field when the windows get tight. (Athlon Sports)

Jim Phillips, ACC commissioner and ex-Northwestern AD, named defendant in hazing lawsuit

Posted Jul 19, 2023
Jim Phillips has been named as a defendant in a new lawsuit that stems from Northwestern’s ongoing hazing scandal. That’s per ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, who says the player filing the lawsuit was a member of Northwestern’s program from 2018-2022. Phillips has been the ACC’s commissioner since 2021, but prior to that he served as Northwestern’s AD. (Saturday Road)

Perhaps what the ACC requires before it is too late

Secure the services of current Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark and allow Phillips to return to Chicago. Yormark took over a Big 12 that many people openly assumed was about to die, and look what he has accomplished against all odds. He is a real fighter. he seems nits to me in even considering UConn, but other than that, everything he has done has worked to set up the Big 12 as well as it could have been saved. That same big vision working for the ACC might be able to save things.

Fit vs Cut

I saw a pic with a few players with no shirt on...let's just say that I would not be embarrassed to be on the same beach with my Dad bod. Lol

Some of us have talked about strength and conditioning here. Is the intent for guys to look more fit than cut? A few guys look kind of soft (linemen mostly never take their shirt off unless you're Myles Garrett)..I'm not seeing guys hitting their targeted numbers. I would expect to see a few more Amari Gainers by now.

ACC Kickoff This Week (7-27: UNC pics & links added)

The ACC Kickoff is underway. It has moved to three days, but I won't be there until Thursday because UNC won't be on the stage and available until then.

I will still post some stuff over the next two days, and then a lot more Thursday. Commissioner Jim Phillips just finished his press conference, so I will get that posted to the front page and link in here as well once the transcript is available.
