• Carolina trailed by 21 points with 17:36 to play before out-scoring the Flyers, 57-34, the rest of the game.
• The 21-point comeback ties the second largest in UNC history and equals the largest second-half comeback in UNC history.
• It is the largest comeback since trailing Florida State by 21 (in the second half) on 1/27/1993.
• The largest comeback in UNC history was 22 against Wake Forest on 2/8/1992 (trailed by 22 in the first half).
• It is the first time UNC came back to win when trailing by at least 20 since 2/15/2006, when Georgia Tech led, 50-30, but UNC came back for an 82-75 win.
• Dayton led by 18 at halftime (51-33). It is UNC’s largest halftime deficit since trailing Wake Forest by 22 on 2/7/2023.
• It is the first time UNC rallied from double-figure halftime deficit at halftime to win since trailing Florida State by 12 (29-41) in a 78-70 win on 2/27/2021.

• The Tar Heels scored 59 second-half points, the second time in three games UNC scored at least 59 in the second half (64 vs. American on November 15).
• RJ Davis led Carolina with 30 points, his sixth career 30-point game and first this season. UNC is 5-1 when Davis scored 30 or more.
• Seth Trimble scored a career-high 27 (previous was 19) and grabbed a career-best 10 reboundsw (previous was six three times) for his first career double-double.
• Trimble’s double-double is the first by a Tar Heel guard since Davis had 16 points and 10 rebounds vs. Virginia in 2023.
• Trimble’s 27/10 double-double is the first by a guard with at least 25 points since Cole Anthony had 34 and 10 against Notre Dame on 11/6/2019.
• Davis was 10 for 11 from the free throw line, the third time in his career he made 10 or more free throws in a game.

• Davis made a season-high four three-pointers and has 285 in his career, 14 fewer than Marcus Paige, who holds the UNC record. It was his 29th career game with four or more 3FGs.
• Carolina shot 59.4% from the floor in the second half, the fourth straight game UNC has shot 50% or better in the second half.
• Carolina shot 51.9% from the floor for the game. The Tar Heels are 26-0 under Hubert Davis and have won 33 straight games when shooting 50% from the floor.
• Carolina has won 13 in a row when scoring 90 or more points.
• The Tar Heels came into the game No. 1 in the nation in turnover percentage and turnovers per game (7.8), then committed 12 in the first half (previous season high was 11). That led to 19 Dayton points off turnovers in the first half. In the second half, UNC committed only three turnovers that the Flyers turned into only two points.
• Elliot Cadeau had committed a total of seven turnovers in the first four games. He had six in the first half but zero in the second.
