Watching the Astros - Angels on MLB Network. There are former Braves all over this game lol. Man I wish we still had Justin Upton's bat. Just stick him at third. He would be fine.
I still don't actually believe Andrelton Simmons' hitting statistics. Every single time I watch the Angels, he is the same old Simmons that swings out of his shoes on every pitch and pops the ball up in the infield lol.
Is the following a single team thing they're doing new? I don't remember them doing that and it was always expensive. My brother lives up in Richmond and he has been DYING to watch the Braves again. He hasn't been able to watch them regularly since they left TBS. He never wanted MLB.TV because it was always too expensive. He's tight...has three kids and a stay-at-home wife to provide for. I need to recommend this to him ASAP.
There's nothing you can't watch on your TV, unless you're using something from the 90s and prior. lol If you don't have a smart TV with the app available, there are several devices that allow you to use it on your TV. Do you watch Netflix? Hulu? Amazon Video? If so, it's just as readily available as those are. If not, I recommend you get with the times and pick up a Roku, Amazon Fire, Google Chromecast, or hell, most modern Blu-Ray/DVD players have apps available with them as well. Basically, if it hooks up to your TV, you can get MLB.TV on it one way or another.
Soroka on the DL with a right shoulder strain and Max Fried up to start in his place tonight. That can't be good.
1). He's been dying to watch the Braves because they're no longer on TBS? That happened like..............10 years ago. He must not be dying that bad.
2). Welp, it looks like your brother might live in the literal one part of the country where he can't have access to this feature (if I'm understanding the link correctly). Once again, the Nationals/Orioles are good for nothing.
There is a possible workaround. Does he still have cable? If so, I assume there's some type of Fox RSN for Virginia that he gets via his cable. As a result, he can use the Fox 2 Go app (may be called something slightly different). As long as his cable company qualifies him to do so, he should be able to watch pretty much anything on the Fox 2 Go app, including the Braves games.
Like I said, he's cheap. I guess I should have said he's always wanted to but it hasn't always been a high enough priority. His desire is growing stronger now that everything is coming to fruition.
Not sure I follow. He's in the Nationals/Orioles region. Shouldn't they be the ones being blacked out? I went to MLB.TV's site and put in his ZIP code and it said only the Orioles and Nationals are subject to blackouts. Maybe I totally missed the point.
He has Sling, but he doesn't pay for the portion that includes the regional Fox Sports channels. He wouldn't get FS South or Southeast anyway, so I'm not sure that matters.
Based on my understanding of the link I provided, to gain access to *just* the $10/month "Follow Your Team" feature, your team needs to be outside your market and you need to subscribe to a cable provider that gives you access to a participating Fox RSN. They listed the RSN for every team as "participating" except for the Nationals, Orioles, Red Sox, and like two other teams.
I was when I lived in Cumberland. I live in Marietta currently. But north Marietta, just on the fringe of Cherokee County.
ETA: Google Maps says 18.4 miles. As the crow flies, it's probably like 16.

After Markakis bats, this team is miserable to watch. 5-8 of our lineup is bad. Hopefully Dansby can curtail that a bit.
Camargo has been hitting the ball a lot better lately, so hopefully he's starting to pick it up. I hope so because I want him to put a choke hold on 3B until Riley comes up.
It's astounding how much more fundamentally sound this offense is without Bautista swinging out of his shoes every pitch.
Camargo is pretty mediocre, bud. Not lobbying for Bautista at all. Just saying, Camargo is nothing special whatsoever.
Also, the Marlins are playing out of their minds against us and I wish they would stop lol.
Also... I would love for the Braves to kick the tires on Ureña if Folty ends up in the bullpen. He's a beast.

I think you always misunderstand me with Camargo. lol I never said he was anything special. I like him as a utility player off the bench. I just don't think he's as bad as you think he is, and I think he's our best option at 3B, as the roster is currently constructed.
There's that mediocre Camargo producing again. His ceiling is Omar Infante, IMO. Nothing special, but a solid MLB player with a long career.
He has really surprised me. I thought he was on his way to becoming a bust, but he's a completely different pitcher this year. I like his mound presence too - you can tell he's oozing with confidence. He's demonstrating what can happen when you factor in a different pitch, throwing his changeup more often.
Yeah he looks very confident out there on the mound and does not get rattled. Like I said, he didn't have his best stuff tonight and he was getting squeezed vertically at the bottom of the zone, *and* he got off to a rough start in terms of a high pitch count.
He let none of that phase him and still managed to navigate his way through some jams and complete 6 innings at 99 pitches. I don't want to get too ahead of myself because it's possible he's just on a real hot streak right now (and he's not facing the best competition the past few starts), but he's still young enough that his ceiling is relatively limitless. I'm fascinated to see where he could ultimately end up. Certainly could be a #2.
He should certainly be an All Star this year, with Goldschmidt and Rizzo struggling.
Poor Brinson can't buy a base hit. Solid game for Camargo. Let's get the sweep tomorrow and keep Teheran in the groove.

Yeah, no hard feelings for Bautista here. He just didn't have it anymore, but it was worth a try. Seemed like a good dude.
I could be wrong about Culberson, since they went ahead and called Sims up to replace Bautista. But I would think that Sims is just a place-holder for Soroka. I think Culberson stays with the 25-man roster as an emergency 3B, SS, OF
