Well, the committee already has so it doesn't matter. Since they released their rankings on Feb 11th with UNC at 5 and 'Zona at 9 UNC has beaten UVA, Louisville, State, Miami and Duke and lost to UVA and Duke. 'Zona has beaten Cal, Washington, Washington State, USC, ASU, Colorado and UCLA and lost to UCLA. So UNC is 3-2 against their top 16 and 'Zona is 1-1 (will be 2-1 if they win tonight). Is that enough to move UNC down? The Heels have better wins and one more loss but to a really good team.
That peak means nothing as it can't account for the whole picture. Back then Georgia Tech and Indiana were considered probably in the tourney. Both have nosedived.
Arizona *correction* will have only 4 losses after tonight. Which are to Oregon, Ucla; Gonzaga, and Butler.
Zags and Butler was without one of their players.
So they will have 3 less losses. Losses to number 1 overall. 2 likely 2 or 3 seeds and a likely 4 or 5 seed.
UNC has really no case over them. Arizona has the road wins we don't. They have no losses even close to as bad as Indiana or Georgia Tech now.
Arizona is a no brainer I think on the top line.
You do realize that last year's dance had two 1-seeds with 6 losses (UNC, Oregon) and another 1-seed with 7 losses (Virginia)?
No I didn't but I am led to assume there wasn't as many teams with such little losses last year then.
CBS, citing inside knowledge from David Gavitt, has us as Eliminated from 1 seed contention.
I trust Lunardi more but who knows.
A 1 or A 2 especially last #1 or first #2 really doesn't matter much..... Bracket will pretty much be the same and will still play in Greenville next week

I've never heard Jay Bilas be such a dookie homer until tonight when he's been BEGGING for dook to be a 1-seed now. They finish 5th in the ACC and they were a projected 4 seed or 5 seed before this tournament. They won 4-in-a-row, sure. But, that doesn't put you in a #1 seed spot.
I think I read Bilas saying that UNC and Duke should both be 1 seeds ironically lol.

Dook is the game of the year minus NCAA tournament play. That used to be a huge deal but I guess, like Roy, you care to look at other games since we can't seem to beat our former HUGE rival. I guess it's cool that Dook has their foot on our throats.

I've included the SoS column (far right), since I found that interesting, too. Keep in mind that all but Villanova had 1 fewer loss when the selection committee made its choices.

Maybe it would make a light bulb go off in Roys head that maybe, just maybe, an ACCT game against dook might be slightly more important than a regular season game against State.

Have to do some research on candidates but stop deflecting and defend your coach's stance on timeouts, guarding 3 ball, substitution patterns etc. I guess we both want to hear what the other side has to say.

Probably doesn't apply this year but in general, if 2 teams had the same record and similar SoS and other factors, but 1 lost a game or 2 to weaker teams, while the other only lost to good teams, who would get the higher seed?
