Carolina vs Virginia game thread on Saturday 24 Feb 2024

UNC getting called for too many fouls. And, way too many turnovers.

UVA hasn't missed a FT yet

Terrible subsitutiobs by Huvert.

He created the run for Virginia with his substitution.

That guy had no business in the game

Washington gives UVA a free 2 points.

The score would be fantastic if Okonkwo and Washington didn't give UVA all those free points.

Our bench is just not what we thought it would be at this point in the season.

Good first half. Up 10 with RJ being a 0 and Bacot and Cadeau in foul trouble. Not too complicated, Cormac Ryan leads the way. Good rim defense by Bacot and Washington all half. UVA missed their fair share but good job by Bacot and Washington making it harder.

Second half key: RJ, Bacot, and Cadeau need to protect their 3rd fouls.

Washington awful pass leads to a flush by Beekman. 26-16 at the half. Washington with three blocks in the first half but his hands on offense are still a work in process

Greatly looking forward to the overreaction on the rebounding numbers from this game, lol.

Virginia just plays SOOOO UGLY. Cormac keeping his eball revival going is nice to see. Washington protecting the rim and rebounding nice as well. Keep grinding in the 2nd half.

Va will come out hot and UNC will have to stop fouling and limit turnovers. After a week off, looks like not many fundamentals were taught during the break.

So far, the Tar Heels owe EVERYTHING to Cormac Ryan. He has single-handedly kept UNC from getting embarrassed in the first half.

Not intended to be insulting but were you expecting a lot from them? We didn’t really bring in anyone that was great. Unless you felt Wojcik could produce similarly like he did at Brown.
