Hey guys I come over from time to time and I always try to be fair. Im a Kentucky fan, arguably one of the biggest Kentucky fans.( A few years back they made a movie about Kentucky basketball and the BBN and Im literally on the cover of the movie poster, see my avatar, lol) I feel like Kentucky was obviously very young, but we were able to beat you guys once and gave you our best shot the second time but both were classics between two great programs.
Anyways, my point is I enjoy coming here and debating, not arguing, just debating college basketball. I have a respect for UNC basketball program and especially Roy Williams. Your team this year was a good group of guys. What I didn't know until I saw the starting lineups announced is that a lot of your players are From North Carolina as well. There are a lot of parallels in our histories, and Roy and Calipari are friends as well. As fan bases, we support our teams, and we both HATE Duke. I appreciate that I can come over here and debate for fun. Most of you guys welcome me, although some hammer me just because I am a UK fan but thats ok too.
I just wanted to say that although there are some things still happening with the NCAA investigations, etc, as far as your TEAM goes this season was special for you guys and you should take it all in and enjoy it. Roy developed a good team over the last 4 years with likable guys. 3 seniors and juniors leading the way. You were the #1 rebounding team and a a great offensive team. After getting beat on probably the best shot in NCAA history, you came back and won it all this year. My point is this....Enjoy it. Enjoy the hell out it. Its not easy to win the title and most years the best team does not win. I felt like UNC was the best team this year with Kansas a close second. You guys are losing a bunch of guys now, but you have a title to help soothe the transition to rebuild, But enjoy it because like you saw last year, losing hurts more that winning feels good. A good group of young men and a good coach and they got it done. So from me, and the logical Kentucky fans (believe it or not, most of us are knowledgeable and respectful), from us congratulations. Enjoy this title and I look forward to playing you guys next year, I hope.
Im going to post another thread about recruits, Kentucky and UNC and who we both lose and who is coming in or back. Please jump in and lets debate/chat on it. And again Im not flaming, I came over to say congrats but Im ready to talk some basketball for next year. lol
