I love the Olympics. Winter, Summer - all of it.

I'm a cord-cutter. During this NCAA basketball season, I signed up for Sling to get my games.

Unfortunately, it looks like Sling will be mostly if not totally useless for the Olympics. So I'm thinking of cancelling and getting something else.

Playstation Vue worked pretty well for the last Summer Olympics. I'd already have that except that they raised their already-high price.

I could go back to Comcast. The most expensive option but has the best DVR capability. And a lot of contests will be broadcast in unfriendly hours for live viewing. Plus lots of overlap on multiple channels.

I get NBC over the air. Great picture. But I won't be satisfied with their summary coverage and excess dedication to "up close and personal" and ubiquitous commercials.

What are you guys doing?

[Disclaimer: I also posted this on another Rivals board. I'm looking for all the advice I can get.]

You're going to have to pay for NBC Gold if you want to see all the events.

But if you just care about the normal events, just buy an HD antenna and watch on over-the-air NBC. I got one at Radio Shack for $15. If you live in a rural area, you might need to spend up to $50 to get a long-range (50 miles) antenna.

NBC Gold is a new one to me. But when I googled it, it doesn't advertise that you can watch the Olympics if you sign up. Can you point me in the right direction?

I wouldn't do it, to be honest. I'd stick with the over-the-air. NBC Gold is a service they rolled out because they wanted to monetize all the streaming people were doing for English soccer.

I just assumed they'd throw Olympics stuff on there too. Perhaps, they're not. I do know people universally hate NBC Gold and want it to go back to being free like it was when it was called NBC Sports Live Extra

HD antennas are legit. I have one paired with Sling TV, and I never miss anything. CBS, FOX, ABC and NBC come in crystal clear, along with some other random stuff it picks up. For about $20, it's a steal.

Yeah, that's what I have, too. But a whole lot of Olympics programming won't be on the OTA channels.

It looked like the NBC Sports channel for Roku would give me a lot of that, but when I tried it out, it said I needed the proper cable subscription (at least that's what I think they were saying). If I had that, I wouldn't need their Roku channel or app (although they might be convenient).

Remember that NBC is owned by Comcast, a cable company... So I'm guessing the streaming options are going to be limited.

If you google "Reddit Olympic Streams", I'm sure you'll be able to find something there.

Just go to the guy above's link...

Sling TV

Sling TV is the least expensive option. You will need the Sling TV Blue package and the News add-on for a total of $30 a month. With that you will get every channel that will air the Olympics.
