Other than MLB there is lots of rotation occurring. Lots of depth and lots of versatility.

I bet these guys stay really fresh down to the final gm. Should be a plus (relative to some other teams) in second half of games down the stretch.

Unfortunately there's nothing left to save for this season.

Nothing to save it from being ba disappointment, yes.

How bout save it from being a disaster, like .500 record?

I mean yeah that would suck but the difference between going 6-6 and 7-5 is marginal at best. Unless VT completely falls apart and loses 3 games, there isn’t really anything left on the table besides trying to save face with recruits. And it seems like Mack can recruit studs even without double digit numbers in the win column so it’s hard to tell what kind of difference that will make anyways.

Given Mack’s history with FSU, it’s entirely possible that we could drop the next three.

Side note: the lack of emphasis on getting Drake some real game reps is alarming. Based on what we’ve seen from Criswell, if he’s the guy next year, we are in trouble. He’s athletic but IMO not an elite level QB.

Agree about Criswell, but I think that might be them trying to keep him from transferring. Someone needs to sit behind Maye next year.

I have found the unwillingness to get Drake real game reps alarming as well. It's like the staff is married to Sam!

If Mack loses to FSU this year... I can't even imagine. But, it's very possible. I'd like to think that home-field advantage will mean a lot, and more talent, supposedly. But, I never expect a win until it happens.

this, and the reluctance to run the ball, suggest that boosting sam's stats for a heisman was a top priority.
The reluctance to run the ball has nothing to do with Sam's stats. We don't run the ball because

- our line is horrible
- our RBs aren't that great
- our OC doesn't like to run

People forget that Mack had to basically threaten Longo to use the running game the last couple of years. My guess is he hasn't done it this year because we don't have All ACC running backs.

That does make a lot of sense, but I'm guessing that the writing is probably going to be on the wall before classes start next Fall anyways. And there's already another dual threat guy coming in next year. Not sure if they're planning to keep him at QB or move him somewhere else but I'd just let him be the backup if Criswell wants to transfer.
