Can anybody answer why Britt didn't play? Reason I ask is because I'm hoping there's a damn good reason like he's hurt, sick, etc because it would be mind boggling that Roy gave him pretty good minutes all year and then decides to keep him on the bench all game? Not that I'm a Britt fan nor do I think he would have impacted the outcome greatly but would think it's dumb to play a kid all year and not in the NCAA tournament. Those minutes could have been better used on developing one of our freshman.
Delta must let Roy count his unused timeouts as frequent flyer miles because there's no rational answer for why a head coach sits on his hands the last quarter of that game and watches the opposing team dominate completely.

Hope Brice plays better Saturday. He stunk tonight. At least he made his FTs. Amaker should have had his players fouling Meeks and TOkoto down the stretch.
i never liked the "lipstick on a pig" analogy in politics, but in sports, it's really misleading.
Well, history has shown that teams who win it all often have nail biters and they are usually one of the first two. These games have a way of waking teams up so maybe this will show these guys that they have to play hard for the entire game, not just when they want to.
I was going by the box score and he's MiA. Baffles me that we'd waste minutes all year on a kid who can't help us in the NCAA tournament first round.

Britt gets no minutes while I swear it's some sort of stupid challenge game for Roy to see how much time he can give Joel James and how bad James can play and still have is win. I seriously think Roy is using a random number generator for his sub patterns. No logic whatsoever. How else can you explain playing 11 guys but some for less than 3 minutes and your worst guy for about 10?
To be fair though tbere were about 4-5 calls as turnovers that were flat out wrong against us. Two travels on Meeks. Sending hicks to the FT line on that charge was bogus. Worked perfect for Harvard. And Brice got a couple offensive fouls for just being in the neighborhood and looking guilty like happens every game for him.

we're not blaming the refs now are we?...the game is called like it's called...both coaches know these refs, tendencies...it's their job to adjust to the flow...the charge non-call on meeks was horrible, but harvard got one.

i assure you wofford is coached well...anderson at arkansas is a decent coach, but their pressure could play into our transition game...wofford is pretty good, watch them.

A strategic coach - not Roy - would've used his 4-5 remaining timeouts in the last two minutes to get better defensive substitutions. Like having pinson on one of their guards Sometimes it seems Roy could just watch from the crowd and be as effective.
Do you think Williams is playing hardcore mode where he lets James play... then if he wins the championship he can be like you can't say it is because of players... look at god damn joel james.
If Britt had played and pooped-the-bed, then everyone would be crying about "Why didn't he play Berry more?"
I think u guys are missing my point about Britt. I don't think he would have made a significant impact tonight. My point is that how much logic is it that Roy played Britt a good amount during the season and even late in key ACC games yet doesn't let him play during a first round ncaa tournament game. If he's not good enough to play in the tourney, then why in the hell did we waste minutes on him early in the year when Berry should have been getting those minutes and developing. That's my point

Hicks was our best player for a majority of the game then sits in long stretches in 2nd half while Fat Fat slops down the court and doesn't do much.
Nah, if anything he's UNDERESTIMATING it. Recruits are being told by EVERY SINGLE opposing coach "Hey, you better think long and hard about going to UNC, they very likely have sanctions coming" ....or some variation of that. It's a KILLER and will be for many years. Not sure why anyone would deny the severity of this working against us, it's pretty simple (and sucks).
