See, HE could have gone on and poked fun of himself and people would have been more open to him but instead he takes the narcissistic road and condemns it instead. That makes him NOT VERY SMART!!!!!! Lol

Is this a joke? Or are you being serious?
I have racist and bigoted "moments", of course. I'm not saying that I was ever next-in-line for Grand Dragon. But, I was raised in the South by family that has been in the South since the 1700's. So, it's safe to say that I was taught racist views. My own father would tell me "Don't ever bring a n*gger in this house"- referring to a female/girlfriend. I never agreed with that, but he was merely teaching me what he was taught. I'm still aware that my upbringing had its share of racially prejudiced views simply from the culture they were raised in. My parents went to segregated schools. I'm nowhere NEAR as prejudiced as my father or grandfather were. But, again, they were taught these things.

I think I'm doing pretty good when it comes to being racially equal to all people. But, like everyone, I have times when I can exhibit a bigoted attitude or racial attitude. I'm not perfect at all. I think if I tried to act as though "I'm never racist" then it's more likely that I can be when I'm not aware of it. In other words, I don't take it for granted. It's something I feel I should always be vigilant about within myself.

I experienced something over the weekend that I'm not sure if you'd call it white privilege or not but a beautiful, young black female and I were standing at the entrance of a store having a brief conversation and were apparently in the way. A slightly older white couple was approaching the entrance and we both said "hi how are you?" to the couple as we were moving backwards, parting the way for them to walk through and the couple made a concerted effort to smile and say hello back to me and completely dismissed her as if she weren't even there. It was obvious to both of us that they had done this and it made me quite uncomfortable. She told me not to worry because she was used to it.

It's sad that people are still that conditioned to that behavior. We are all the same only some behave civilized and some do not.
