CHAPEL HILL – UNC football coach Larry Fedora was asked Monday during his weekly press conference several questions about the flag on Ryan Switzer that brought back a long punt return in what appeared to be a questionable call.

The officials ruled Switzer called for a fair catch and flagged him for delay of game when he ran, taking the ball down to Wake Forest's 1-yard-line. Instead, UNC lost 5 yards on the play.

Here is what the coach had to say:

Have you gotten an explanation about the call on Switzer’s put return?

No I haven’t, I haven’t. And I don’t expect to get an explanation, I really don’t. What are they going to say, anyway, that’s going to make me feel better? How ’bout that? What’s going to make me feel better, nothing.

But would some kind of acknowledgement from the league knowing that they know it and they recognize it?

We send stuff in, I’m sure they’re aware of it by now. I just haven’t heard anything back. I’m sure they’ll send me something.

What is the normal time frame on something like that?

It’s usually by the end of the day. We send it in Monday mornings and we usually get it by the end of the day, sometimes by Tuesday. The whole league sends their stuff in on Monday.

How many plays will you send in on average?

It just depends, game to game. I’d say on average four or five different things we may see on the film and we ask about. And it’s not necessarily just things that are called, it may other things that aren’t called and we’re asking about them and want to know how they perceive them.
