I have not heard anything about Platek having finalized a decision to leave after this season, I have heard that it is a consideration because his projected PT does not look good with the talent we have coming in to his position. I do not buy that the ankle injury is a story to cover up that he is transferring, he has already played in to many games to be a transfer that could use this season as a red shirt. I have heard NOTHING to indicate Platek is in any way in Roy's dog house, all I have heard is the kid is legit hurt but is expected to come back and play in a few games.

As I shared early season, there are 2 current guys on our roster that would not even mildly surprise me if they transferred after this season simply due to the talent level coming in and their desire to play. If they do, they will have Roy's total support but I do not believe Roy wants either of them to leave and he does not move good kids off his roster in order to bring in freshmen, just not how Roy does his job.

i agree with you on most points, but to clear things up I never said that I heard that Platek had finalized a decision... only that there was more to the story of the hurt ankle than just a hurt ankle. It wouldn't surprise me if he didnt play because if he sits out and transfers he would only have to miss 12 or so games next yr. I have heard he is strongly considering transferring. We do agree coach will not force him out, and wants him to stay. ultimately the kid has to do what he feels is best for him. lastly i did hear that he was not very happy with how roy called him and keeling out saying if you want to play be better...

Platek in all likely hood is not coming back is what I was told; I could be wrong, but there is more to the "ankle sprain" than meets the eye. @imajericho that good enough for ya?

Um, unless he transferred before the start of spring session, he has to wait the entire year. Also, he would lose a year of eligibility for both years if he split up his seasons also. Instead of waiting the year and getting a full senior season. That said, I don't believe there is any credibility to the transfer rumor.
