Good going North Carolina

They have pulled the basketball championship game from being played in Greensboro because of that stupid bathroom law. It's a good thing that Governor is a genius.

I thought it was NCAA early round games - not ACC tournament.

It's bullshit and hypocrisy at it's finest. Is the NCAA going to refuse to take money that schools from North Carolina have made for them? Is the NBA still going to accept revenue from games in Charlotte? Of course they are. They just want to grand stand to pander to a certain ideological demographic.

Here's hoping the PGA and NASCAR stay profitable and silent.

I think it is the tournament that is part of the final four thing but I imagine it could be the ACC tournament. Isn't that always in Charlotte? I cannot remember. I just watch on TV and don't really pay attention. I've only been down for the one in Atlanta years ago (2007 I think). IF this bathroom issue had been a serious problem, I think this would have been warranted but it really wasn't. This was just this governor wanting to get back and liberals in some way and now he is going to cost his state a LOT of revenue and respect.

The NCAA is all about money so this is probably just a way to beef up that for them by moving it to another state/venue and pushing this agenda in the other direction and making profit off of it that way. When we have huge differences and take sides, it is usually the little people who lose no matter what and the big guys make all the money and laugh all the way to the bank. They don't care!

LAWSUIT: Biologically male student ‘twerking’ in girl’s locker room violates Title IX

What are we going to do about the biological males who still live as males and are assaulting women way, way more than the ones dressed as women twerking in locker rooms being obnoxious?
This happens almost every week in Clemson lately. http://www.945theanswer.com/student...g-forced-in-suv-on-clemson-campus-police-say/

I suppose we need to not allow men to drive cars or walk anywhere close to places where women are because they MIGHT be tempted to sexually assault them. We need separate countries for men and women now.

You're always going to have sexual predators and deviants, but we don't normally allow them, much less invite them, into the women's locker room or bathroom.

And I've said all along that most of the transgender people are harmless- it's the hetero males that will use this as an opening to make their crimes easier to commit that are the problem.

There are already laws in place to prosecute hetero males that prey on women. HB2 doesn't accomplish anything at all in that respect.

It makes any male in the women's room ALREADY in violation of the law. Without it, any male can claim to be a female, and just walk right in, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

The bathroom part of the bill I agree with. I don't agree with the part that stripped out the anti-discrimination protections for LGBT.

That's Pat's pet red herring. The handling of that situation would be the same as it's always been. I feel like this has already been explained.

But at least you're acknowledging the rest of the garbage that's in the bill, so thank you for that.

I'll admit I haven't fully read the bill, so you'll have to forgive my ignorance, but how would the handling of that situation be the same if the male in the woman's room said he felt like a she, and therefore belonged in there?

Because this was never about regular guys claiming to identify as women. Everybody can see through that just as well as they could have a year ago before any of this was a question, and deal with it accordingly. This is about a tiny, already marginalized population of people who literally live as the other gender. Who I'm sure were already using the bathroom they felt comfortable with and it wasn't an issue.

I definitely feel for the marginalized group. I guess I just disagree with your assertion that just because everyone can see through it that we can "deal with it accordingly". How can it be dealt with accordingly if it's legal?

Nobody is condoning or legalizing a regular guy claiming to identify as female so he can go perv out in the ladies room. That has never been allowed and wouldn't be under any anti-discrimination ordinance.

It appears, at least to my not fully informed self, that is exactly what is being attempted to be legalized - even though I agree that nobody would be condoning it. In order to make it legal for transgenders to pick the bathroom of their choosing, doesn't that option have to be open to everyone? If not, who would be the person to verify if the person claiming a certain gender that wasn't their own was being genuine or not?

I will say basing it off birth certificates is stupid because of all the gender change surgeries that can happen in today's day and age. Those should supersede birth certificates in this instance (maybe they do, as mentioned I'm not fully informed).

There's no bathroom monitor. There was no bathroom monitor a year ago and we got along fine. Against all odds apparently.

Right. There's no one monitoring, so there's no one to determine whether someone is for real or not when they say they feel like a certain gender. In the several instances that have been noted, no one would be the wiser in regards to the actual transgenders. I still haven't seen a way that making it legal for them to do so wouldn't open the door for others though. If we want to go back to "turning a blind eye" I can understand that stance, as we would then "know it when we see it" and deal with it accordingly. But once you make it legal - it's legal for everyone.

More folks ought to review "how" the bill was "passed" in the first place....speaking with my state senator, I was appalled at how the passing of the bill was accomplished. So was she.
Before one repeats what they think they know, please read the bill.
Then review how the "state" took our water in WNC, how they tried and failed to take our local elections to city council from us (by establishing districts) and oddly this tactic is being tried in a number of smaller municipalities in North Carolina, how they have taken our University with the appointment of their own puppet....

The NCAA:

Plays games in China
Plays games in Cuba
Won't play games in NC because of human rights violations

Fukkin hypocritical SJWs can go straight to hell.

I'm fine if the NCAA wants to make a stand for human rights. But they don't. Screw them- let them find another state that will bring in revenue for their games like NC does. There's a reason they chose to play here to begin with and it isn't because they love UNC.

Well let them lose the revenue because now Greenville has a chance to host the tournament now that they silenced the whiney butts by putting a flag in a special display case.

You're exactly right. It was stipulated that no one may question the person's gender identity- say you're a girl, you're a girl, go where you like.

What flag are you talking about?
South Carolina venues have never been able to host ACC events (especially Myrtle Beach hosting the ACC Baseball Tourney) because the ACC stated it will never allow a league tourney/championship in S.C. as long as the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia is flown over the state capital.

The ACC has decided to move it's championships out of NC . .

Stupid. Since Atlanta is taken, where the **** are they gonna put the ACCCG? The ACC's footprint is too spread-out to have a "central" location, but Charlotte was a pretty good compromise (within an 8-hour drive from the campuses of GT, UNC, Duke, NCSU, Wake, VT, UVA, Clemson, Louisville, FSU, Pitt. That's 11 of 14 schools. What other city are you going to find that's that "centrally" located, with a big enough stadium to support the game?
