Yes, these ideals sound awesome in theory - but they don't work in reality. You're right, it would be awesome if everyone were to share everything, and still produce as much to go around, evenly split among everyone.
However, humans are lazy. You wishing they weren't won't make it change. Take the scenario of a group of 100 people, who all produce 10 goods a day (earning $1 per good) at their normal capacity, and telling them that they'll evenly share the output and earnings. What incentivizes a person to produce an 11th or 12th good, if they're only going to get an extra penny or two? Conversely, what prevents them from scaling their production back to 5 goods a day, when it will only cost them 5 cents, and they'll still earn $9.95 for doing half the work?
This "share everything" mentality severely handicaps productivity due to lack of positive incentives, and introduction of negative incentives. And humans respond to incentives - whether you think that's a good thing or not, it's not going to change.
They absolutely work "in reality." They work in theory and reality. People do it all the time. It's just that ALL of us don't do it ALL of the time. It's pretty simple. Are you willing to do it? Am I? It's not some magical, unattainable dream.

You need to read up on the Clinton Global Initiative (it is not hyperbole, it is in their mission statement as well). The UN is also working towards a one-world government and has for many, many years. Also, mega-wealth means nothing without the power to back it up. Has nothing to do with filthy rich, it has everything to do with power. There are many mega-rich in the world that do not aspire to control the world. Georgie certainly does and has since his goose-stepping days in Nazi Germany many moons ago. I can guarantee I am far from an outlier in this.

It doesn't work in reality in terms of an entire society. It is like the whole 'veil of ignorance' philosophy. We could come up with ideals and rules that work perfectly regardless of status, creed, etc... Then greed and human nature would take over. That is reality.
