I microwave mine a lot too and I have a house and a grill. If I'm just cooking for me I don't see the need into putting all that time into grill work for 2 dogs. If we're w the family I'll fire it up and do it that way though.
I fixed 6. 3 for me and 2 for the wife. I considered having a 4th. I forgot the Wolf brand chili in my original poast as well.

Funny story about some friends of my parents. They're a couple from Oklahoma (they're in their early 50s but the wife is very, very much still a *would*). On one of their first dates, the guy cooked for them and grilled up some fancy bratwurst-style dogs. He grilled three, two for him and one for her. A few minutes later, he went to grab his second dog, and realized she had already eaten two.

So now, he refers to his wife as "2 Dog" lolol.

I can't cook. And I can't have a grill at my apartment complex.
Dude, if you can't grill them then just grab a metal colander, put a little water in a small pot and place the colander on top. Throw the dogs in and find a top that will fit in the colander without touching the dogs. Turn heat to high and once the water boils you'll have steamed dogs in 10 minutes.

Oh hell yea i grate my own horseradish (pre grated has bug semen) and put it on a sizzling rib-eye right off the grill.

As for mustard take the brown spicy kind and add honey and some lemon juice then brush on a head of cauliflower and bake it.

I'm going to try this!

I take cauliflower and cut it bite size and roast it with olive oil and pepper. Then it season with Tajin Chili Lime seasoning. Awesome.

You think I have a metal colander?

Grilled is the only way to do hot dogs. Gotta have just a little bit of char on there. Steamed will work if in an absolute pinch with no grill. Boiled dogs are rude - and I had never really even considered microwaved o_O

Microwave dogs are awesome. Same taste just different way of warming them. The grill adds a little different texture, which is nice, but still tastes the same IMO. And if y'all don't like it y'all can GFY. The whole lot of ya.

You're just making it worse on yourself. Please stop before you go so far that you can't come back from this ridiculousness.

I'm riding with toophly for a white guy on this one. I've been microwaving hot dogs since '95. They include microwave instructions on the package for a reason, mind.

This I can actually agree with. The taste is very marginally different between a grilled dog and a dog prepared another way - but the texture is certainly different. And I can be really picky about texture/mouthfeel. Microwaved and boiled hot dogs are just too slimy for me.

Won't is a big part of it.

BTW, @UNC '92 when you were in Georgia, did you ever eat at Brandi's World Famous Hot Dogs on Church Street near downtown Marietta?
I'm ashamed to admit that I only ate there one time. But I remember it fondly. I took mine with mustard, chili and slaw. And those damn onion rings were off the hook! Their hot dog chili is legend.

I don't eat them often but when I do I eat them with Miracle Whip and bacon.

I've always considered mustard and chili to be an either/or situation with regards to hot dogs. Either you go down the "traditional" condiment path with any of mustard, ketchup, relish, etc. Or you go down the chili, cheese, etc. path. After seeing so many poasters that do mustard and chili - I'm gonna have to try it out.

If any of you are around or pass through the town of Wake Forest I got one word for you; Shorty's. If you've been you know what I'm talking about. I grew up on those dogs.

You whipper snappers need to understand that it's not just about the grillin but the beer that goes along with the grillin. Trying to teach you young fellas something.

Hmm okay, so it's that good? It's only a stone's throw from my office. I'm right near the intersection of Bells Ferry and 41, so it's like 5 minutes away.
