Talking about Taggart and Fuente made me wonder about possible replacements should they not get things turned around. And that led to wonder about the non-P5 head coaches who could get an upgrade.

One game from yesterday comes to mind for both: Ole Miss losing at Memphis 15-10. Former OC Matt Luke should not be feeling deep burns from his seat. Last year, Ole Miss fans blamed a mediocre season on a lousy D and DC and on an offense that failed to score enough TDs when in the Red Zone. Longo was assumed to be a liability by Ole Miss fans and probably Luke as well.

Memphis coach Mike Norvell again showed that he is ready for a shot at a P5 school. He loves being at Memphis because he played at Central Arkansas and has in-laws living there. But he would leave for a good P5 job.

Luke Fickell took Cincinnati to an 11-2 record in his 2nd season there. He opened this year with a win over UCLA.

Josh Huepel took over a UCF team at the top. but he lost the star QB to injury and still reeled off 12 straight wins before losing a hard fought bowl to LSU.

On the flip side of this, the Chip Kelly era at UCLA has been very underwhelming so far. I know he inherited a young team, but he probably needs to show at least some improvement this year to keep the fan base happy.
