Did you miss the part where HD played Nance too much when everyone could see Puff needed those minutes? Did you miss the part when HD allows Love to kill this team with the most stupid shots and does nothing to stop it?
The truth is that we did not get someone who could produce half of the production of Brady Manek. Needless to say, our defense was not intense either. This was not on the coach. It's on the team.

Bacon and leaky were a combined 11 of 22.......rest of the team..13 for 47...I guess HD should have pulled the rest of the team according to the Hof coaches we have on this board.

I was at the dome last February when dook rocked unc. It sucked. To make it worse, I was there with dook friends—- however —-The last two W’s against dook make up for that loss and so much more, including tonight’s loss.
Our last two W’s against dook far outweigh our last two L’s to dook. No one can argue any differently.

It's either this team doesnt listen or Hubert Davis is one of the worst coaches I have ever seen at coaching fundamentals.
His schemes are for the wrong level of basketball. The court is too small and we always play against set defenses. Its frustrating to watch.

If you couldn’t tell that nance shouldn’t have been in the game without being a d1 coach then so be it. His defense on screens was horrible. He had no clue where to go. Btw don’t comment ever again any opinion unless u are a hof coach.

Fact: UNC does not have an objectively talented roster, and that includes the starters and bench. We may have former HS players who were highly rated, but they have not delivered. We have no players projected in the first 1.5 rounds of the NBA draft in 2023, with Bacot the only player in the top 60 per NBADraft.net.
Fact: We consistently play sloppy, unfocused defense. That is mainly on the coaches who permit players to be on the floor who are not committed to defense. I'm with Pitino, if you can't play defense, you don't play.
Fact: HD seems to think that Love and Black will miraculously catch fire and become excellent and consistent offensive/defensive players. Not going to happen in my lifetime. If players are not performing, sit them on the bench, and put somebody else in, like Nickel, Johnson, Styles, Dunn. This is an easy concept that most leading coaches embrace. No coach should be married to a certain player or lineup. Embrace meritocracy in the rotation.
Fact: HD is a good coach, who played at UNC and in the NBA. I think he is doing the best with what he has, which is essentially a group of players who will likely never see the NBA based on past play. I do think he needs to trust himself and play the players who can consistently deliver, and that likely does not include Black, Love, and Nance. So I say, play the reserves, and see what they can do, as I am not impressed with the starting five. I'd rather lose with the reserves getting valuable PT who have multiple years of eligibility than lose with the veterans who have little upside potential and are near the end of their college careers.

Hubert has allowed simple defensive adjustments, like doubling Bacot, completely shutdown offensive flow. Turnover, travel, no shot attempt, no predetermined outlet pass for Bacot, leading to an open shot attempt. The end result of Bacot being doubled tells you the staff is not doing the basic job of coaching. The answer is constant, mandatory feeding the post to get what you want. A double team of Bacot, so that ball & player movement can commence leading to an open, unhurried shot, not some unrepeatable pass & rushed shot. This team is being limited by its lack of preparedness.

In all honesty .. some of the things being coached are really fd up. The 4 out offense or whatever it's called where peeps run to a corner and wait negates a lot of things. If you have a pro team where guys can hit the shot and create is one thing but it seems hubcap aint figured out he aint got a pro team.
Didn’t get a chance to look at halftime stats. Bacot at least showed up in the first half or we get blowed out. Our guards definitely needed to get him the ball more in the second half. You think?
