Kill Whitey

You know how some people hunt for compliments? When people do that, I don't give them one.

Also, I like to do nice things for my staff. I'd love to give them a day off here and there or bring them breakfast just to show that I appreciate them. But I never do it. You know why? Because I'm constantly bombarded with my staff beating me to the punch to ask for days off or for me to surprise them with breakfast for a staff meeting.

I'm not sure you'll get what I'm saying but at this point, I don't care.
I understand

I don't still enjoy listening to rap music?
I said "who listens to..."

That's present-tense. And, I used the present tense intentionally. I did say "thought it was cool as a teenager." But, that's not what you commented on.

Yes. 100000000% yes.

I loathe BLM and a lot of black people I know agree.

Those idiots kicked Bernie Sanders, who has done more for Civil Rights in his pinky than any of them, off a stage at a rally. If they're that ignorant I'm freaking done with them.

This cracks me up every time I see it. Watch with volume. It never gets old.

Well, first of all, you and two others are coming at me repeatedly. hard for me to keep up. But I appreciate that you don't think I'm racist. I'm not sure what else there is to respond to in that poast. I too had riots at my school. Frequently. Blacks against blacks. Whites against whites. Blacks against whites. That's high school. What do you want me to say?

Nothing I suppose. You asked a question and I answered.

Think I agree with the first part and not the last.

The 90s had some HUGE racial events (Rodney King and OJ are the first two that come to mind). Each side blamed the other and esp in Rodney King, black people blamed white people for everything in the aftermath of the cops being acquitted.

Black people in So California blamed white cops in So California for everything. Here in VA, in a school of about 1800 students that were split right down the middle (50% black, 50% white - we have no other races in Central VA), we didn't talk about race other than to say, "you are a silly black motherfu*ker" or "that dumb redneck can't play a lick". In college (at UNCG), it was the same thing - no real malicious intent when acknowledging the differences between black and white folks. We called each other names. We realized we were different races. But it wasn't venomous like it is now. Y'all aren't getting it and that's ok. But I'm tired of the back and forth at this point.

I'll be me. You be you. And we'll hopefully minimize our discussions on these matters moving forward.

That sorta reminds me of when Richard Pryor fired all white people in his entourage and went all-black. The black guys fvcked-him-over, or had no idea WTF they were doing, and his career suffered for it. That was part of the journey, of course. But, to me, choosing allies based on race is racism and it will draw little sympathy when it screws-up, or malfunctions.

That's because it didn't happen here and it wasn't my problem.
I know that... that's exactly what I said. It's a myopic perspective.

When black people couldn't vote in Mississippi, they never said anything and the white people told themselves that "the coloreds are happy." They obviously weren't. But, no liberal civil rights yankee could convince Ma & Pa Kettle that. They were willfully ignorant to it.

Yeah, I'm not familiar with Mississippi. Never been. You?

You're not empathetic to blacks because of the music you listen to, or think is cool.

I'm not sure I follow. Are you saying that I should be empathetic to blacks because I listen to rap music? What if I listened to Irish folk music? Would I then have to be empathetic towards Irish folks?

But because you haven't seen it firsthand, you dismiss anyone else who claims they have?

The longer differences between races are magnified, the longer there will continue to be differences between races. Once we can get past looking at everything from a racial angle, we'll be able to achieve racial equality.

I think I see a lot of resentment of white people toward OTHER white people for the degree in which they observe the white guilt/white privilege attitude.

That's not racism between races. That is a form of racism within a race.

It might be easier if humans were stripped of the gift of sight. I'm sure they'd fill the void somehow.

I agree wholeheartedly. But white people cannot say what you just said. Only black people can shut down race discussions. We simply have to wait until they decide that we're through discussing it.

I cannot recall when I first heard the term 'white privilege' but I know it is something that has been out there for a long time.

Sure. But I think of it like the word "dotard". Been around for awhile. But it's usage has really ramped up very recently. And for both words (or phrase, in the case of white privilege), they are now used to push a negative agenda.

I think one should only apologize for any wrongs they directly perpetrated. Apologizing for others is silly.

100%

However, having compassion or sympathy is ok in my book.

It certainly is ok. It just shouldn't be required, or even requested. Let people have their own emotions.

Furthermore, let me have a chance to be empathetic. I can't ever be empathetic because they're always beating me to the punch.

If I want to buy my kid an ice cream cone, the quickest way for him to ruin that chance is to ask for an ice cream cone.

Look, I'm not going to try to explain what should be evident to you. If you don't see it that way, then whopity-doo for you. That's of little or no concern to me. I see it that way. And frankly, the way I see it is all that matters to me. So with that, I'll continue to believe as I do until I feel better about it. Trump is a start. Hopefully he's paved the way to squash more of this in the future.
Help me out here, I'm slow. What are you hoping Trump will squash more of? TIA

OOTB in a nutshell. Get a response from someone who I didn't ask, whereas the two people I did dodge the question.

True. But any answer sucks for them. Because they either say they would trade places with Rock meaning they value money more than who they are or they won't trade places with Rock meaning they're probably a racist.

When someone calls me racist, all I do is laugh at them. For a segment of our society, calling others a racist is the end all, be all. I don't care what people call me. I'll be quick to tell them...I've been called worse things by much better people than you so have at it.
