Knox

If that means he goes to Missouri over Dook, then so be it.

The PG Harris just committed on Twitter.

Was never really sure why people didn't take this seriously. The fact that Martin managed to flip two top 100 recruits, and get a previously undecided recruit to include an official visit all in less than a month. Foul play or not, it was pretty clear these intentions were serious, especially after the visit was set up.

Regardless, Hope they enjoy flaming out in the 1st weekend of the tourney.

I didnt, because UNC, Duke, Florida St and Kentucky (less so Kentucky), have been recruiting Knox for 2 years or more. That made me think relationships were important to Knox, I guess not. Plus, its Missouri haha.

Don't give up so fast.

Some stuff on premium mostly. But I've seen it here.

"Knox is selfish, he's a prima donna, he's just doing this to promote himself, kids these days have no respect" that kind of thing.

He's an 18 year old kid and we were all there once. He's also part of a process that now has more media attention than ever. Not entirely his fault.

Well, I do agree that kids are lacking respect these days. I dont agree that 18 year olds should be critisized for loving attention. You're right, the media creates all of this attention, and these kids are running with it. We shouldn't blame them for that.

I think every generation hates on the younger one. What's going on right now is the result of instant gratification from social media, and the media itself. Could guys like Jamison, Carter, Battier or Elton Brand showcase their 'brand' back in the 90s when Carolina and Duke were going after them? Not really. Recruiting nowadays is not only covered more heavily by various sports websites and ESPN, but there's instagram, twitter and youtube that add on to it.

I don't know Kevin Knox from adam. But I do think that if Roy is recruiting him this heavily, he can't be all that bad. And I would love to see him in Carolina blue.

Over the last few years every one has lamented on the lack of recruiting.....yet two FF's in a row and a natty. Those who want to be part of the UNC family will do so, and the rest can take their talents elsewhere courageously ignoring what Roy, the team and the school have to offer.

I hope some people stop saying all this nasty stuff towards him. You would think he would have committed some sort of crime simply because he went to an official visit to Missouri.

No one is unreasonably ripping him. People are simply commenting in a general sense about the culture of college recruiting and today's kids versus those of yesteryear. I think everyone recognizes all the factors that play into it (media scrutiny, AAU, social media, etc). But mostly what I've seen here and the comments I've seen with other recruitments are that many of us just don't like the way of the world now. It's not a specific gripe directed at Knox or the next great recruit that milks his recruitment for everything it's worth. Many of us were around when guys just committed to a school without all the fanfare. And we all just liked it better. That's all.

In regards to Knox, for the majority of his recruitment, he seemed like he was more old school in that he wasn't getting caught up in all the hype. That has certainly changed down the stretch. If he picks UK or duke or even FSU, I will understand. I won't like it, but I will understand. Those schools have been recruiting him long and hard and have a lot to offer. If he picks Mizzou, I will be befuddled and my opinion of him will change significantly. It will show that he 100% believes himself to be OAD. I took him for a more grounded kid that would make the jump to the NBA when ready - not a guarantee to do it after 1 year. It will also show that relationships don't mean as much as he had let on. Because there is no way he can form a relationship with Martin in a week to the level of the relationships that Roy, K, Hamilton and Cal have worked on for a couple years. And it will show that he is a follower and not a leader. So in that sense, I'll be glad not to have him.

Still hoping we sign him and he comes here, stays 2 years, gets better throughout his time, becomes part of the carolina family and leaves a mark on the program. But I'm not feeling as good about it as I once was.

I posted the following on the Premium side and I think it bears a mention here:

I used to get real upset about the Heels not getting OAD players. Not anymore. The last two years have taught me something.
There is no better feeling than having your team win the NCAA title, especially with no OAD players. I don't know if any of you saw the press conference with Jackson and Meeks before the NCAA final when they answered Goodman's question about the lack of OAD players at UNC. If you didn't hear it, go to You Tube and listen to it 3-4 times. If it does not make you feel good being a Tar Heel fan I don't know what it would take to get you there.

It is very refreshing to see no players transfer from your favorite team over the last several years. Then look at all the transfers at Duke.

It is very refreshing to see a kid like Brandon Robinson who didn't see the floor during the Final Four get more excited than any other player after the game.

Oh, Luke Freakin Maye. Did I know what we had? No, dummy me didn't know it. I know now. Luke Maye taught me something. When Luke Maye missed that uncontested lay-up earlier in the season I criticized him and thought he would never do much for the Heels. The kid got better and better as the season went along. Then he hit the game wining shot against Kentucky in the Elite 8 game. The shot that will be remembered as one of the top 5 plays in UNC history.

Meeks may not be good enough to make an NBA team. On the other hand, when you see UNC fans petitioning to have his jersey hung in rafters gets pretty emotional folks. There is no other school like Carolina.

Please, if Knox signs elsewhere, let it go. A kid like Robinson will work that much harder in the off season.

He basically said in a recent interview, that he ignored Roy's text about chatting later in the evening, but at the same time had time to do an interview to state the same. I'd say 99% chance he is not coming to UNC.

Michael porter jr has openly courted tilmon who will evidently be released from his loi at illinois today. All indications are hes going to mizzou. i'm all but certain knox is as well. The porters have a plan to assemble a dream team for a one yr title run and they are successfully selling it to these recruits. If they do get tilmon and knox they will end ky's run of top ranked recruiting classes.

And still flame out in the NCAA tourney.

The school and it's tradition has very little to do with the decision of OAD's. It's all about the money. If Knox wants to come, fine. But I'm certainly not holding my breath on his decision. More and more, I think he's dook bound.

I've gone on record saying that my focus is on Hamilton, and a few 2018 bigs.
If we don't lose anyone other than JJ to the draft, we are going to be a problem for the rest of the country again next year.

And I also don't lose an ounce of sleep on certain kids and the people who make their decisions.

Even if they landed all of them they still would be nowhere near a title contender-so there's that.

Have you seen Kentucky's class? No chance of topping them. Plus Dukes was 1st not too long ago.

That said, Knox is not going to Missouri. He is going to Duke or Kentucky or Us.

Knox is way too alpha to play alongside Porter Jr. I think all these kids like the idea of the super team however within that, somebody will be the loser. Loser in they won't get enough touches. Porter Jr is a black hole once the ball hits his hands.

I hope Knox , Duval and Tilmon all end up at Mizzou. It will be nice to watch UK have some competition in the SEC.
