Knox

I think we will get Hamilton. Strong NC class, Roy is putting a priority on the in state kids in 2018.

Back to back great posts by gunslingerdick and Steat. Thanks guys, much appreciated!

I don't have a great feeling one way or the other but I just don't see where he fits at Duke if Grayson comes back. I don't think there's a starting spot there if they get Duval. Duval-Jackson-Allen are the 1-3 starters, unless someone thinks a senior Allen won't start. Then they have Bolden and Carter at the 4-5 and Knox wants to definitely play the 3. They also have some 4 stars and a 5 (Trent) on the bench. Trent will play the 2-3 as well. I don't know where the minutes come from. UNC offers all the PT in the world, don't know where else makes sense for him. UK already has an entire lineup coming in.

Doubt Knox sits. Either F. Jackson or Trent get pushed to the bench if they get Duval and Knox. I imagine they're lineup would look something like this.

Duval
Allen
Knox
Carter
Bolden (Bamba?)

He'll be getting the Derryck Thornton treatment if they get those 2. Mark my words.

If he goes to Duke he will be the 4. K will say it worked out well for Tatum and he will play on the perimeter. Duke runs a 4 round 1 offense vs the 3 round 2 we run.

I can't see Knox parents sending him to Mizzu... They seemed to be the type of parents that are very cerebral in there approach to potential schools for there son and I can't see where they have put in that much work with Mizzu to let them swoop in at the final hour. Some parents out there .. maybe but not these parents.

Let me give you analogy that may help some you see this a little differently.

Lets say YOU had an offer to retire in several coastal cities in the United States. Each city offered you to live for FREE in a million dollar beachfront home for up to four years, all expenses paid.

Within 4 years or less, you have the opportunity to receive a FREE home 7-8 times the value in one of the most prestigious communities in the world. Before you make your initial decision, you have residents of these cities cheering you on to move to their particular city because by you residing in their city gives them some bragging rights and their property values may increase.

Now, would you give a hoot about what the residents of these cities think about your initial decision on the 1 million house? You are doing what you think is best for you with little regard to what others think. As the cliche goes. "If it is to be, it's up to me"

Now, put yourself in Knox's shoes.

It's just not worth the pain some of you are going through, especially this soon after winning a title.

True but Carter is a natural 4. If they put him at the 5, Duke will get eaten alive down low with he and Knox. Guarding 4s is never fun for guys like Knox or Tatum. Most of those star wings under K have been poor to very poor defenders when forced to guard the 4 spot.

If Jackson sits then Duke's opponents win. He will be explosive next year, I don't see how a freshman Knox is better than Jackson next year. He's their player that worries me most, once it clicks I think he will be amazing.

Knox will struggle to guard 3's and he is not a great ball handler and has a slow release on his shot. I'm not sure how everybody thinks he's just gonna push aside Trent because dook has often used 3 guards/ball handlers.

Kevin Knox has pushed his college announcement back to April 28 or May 1, depending on national television availability.

I believe this whole massive movement to Mizzou , with several big time talents going there is going to sweep up Knox as well

I won't like it but I would rather have that happen them him going to UK or UK EAST

i think pushing things back only helps Dook or Missouri. Perhaps he is waiting to see what a player like Grayson Allen is going to do, or give Missouri more time to add some additional recruits.

In the scenario I included Duval. There's no way in the world a OAD Duval goes to Duke to sit behind Jackson. JMO.

Don't know about that. If Allen stays Knox probably rules them out....at least it would make sense given the minutes/wings on their roster.

Got a few picks for knox to unc on the crystal ball

For whatever that's worth.

I honestly never trust these too much. However, they tend to have their best accuracy when the date of the commitment is the closest. So perhaps there could be something there.

One of the guys picking us is usually quite accurate, let's hope so.

I agree, if I were Knox and wanted all the playing time I could get I wouldn't go to Duke if Allen comes back. Unless he is finally realizing that he probably isn't a OAD talent and plans on sticking around for a couple years.

From what I can tell, Knox thinks quite highly of himself. I get the vibe he wants to be OAD

I agree although I have to believe when the dust settles he's choosing unc bc they will have the most minutes and the biggest spotlight for him. Mizzou has all the minutes he can handle but let's be honest, zero spotlight. I see Allen coming back, and with Bolden also back, I think Knox places us third.

Hoping Allen comes back as I think that influences Knox's decision too, despite his claim in an interview it would have no effect. Only makes sense to me that it would for a guy wanting the ball and to be a OAD.

if Porter Jr. , Knox , Tilmon and Duval go to Mizzou then the spotlight will find them.

That is what I am saying. Extending his decision gives him time to find out if Allen is gonna stay (he wouldn't want that) or leave (he would love that).

...and Bamba. Let them be a 1 seed in that garbage conference and get beat by a 16. So done with this culture. Give me Roy's type of kid all day long.

I couldn't agree more. Now a days, the best players in the NBA want to play on the same team, not against. They literally call eachother up and sign with the same teams. I always tell younger people, that if this happened during my childhood in the 80s, we would never have had Magic vs Bird, Jordan vs Whomever that year, Ewing vs Olajuwon. Their drive to compete would never let them try and win it all by becoming a super team, which almost like cheating.

Same goes for college now. Knox was going about his recruitment perfectly, until porter changed his commitment to Missouri. Now Blake Harris followed him there. And Knoxs eyes light up and he has an (uncharacteristically) smile from cheek to cheek when he talks about being unstoppable on the wings with Porter. And now Jeremiah Tilmon is trying to renege on his NOI with Illinois because he wants to play with them. And the latest is Trevon Duval now saying he has an interest to go see Missouri. It's a freaking joke. Well I'd rather Missouri then d00k and Kentucky, that's for sure. But this generation has a habit of being followers and doing what's popular at the moment, and it's been d00k and Kentucky for a bit now. And so now Missouri is the new one. But I got news for them, Martin is a horrendous coach. He's equivalent to gottfried. So have fun.

I'll enjoy watching Roy develop true Carolina kids into another contender, while I also feel very good at the moment about our chances with landing jarius Hamilton, Romeo Langford (because he's a family oriented kid and always talks about that when he talks Carolina, and Roy usually locks those type of kids up pretty easily), Matthew Hurt and even Zion for a few reasons but mainly because his whole crew will be at North Carolina and that he seems like he just loves Roy Williams to death, and has mentioned in the past that when he first arrived into the Dean Dome, he said he felt as if he arrived home. I also feel really good about Isaiah Todd because he said UNC is a dream school, but I've heard that before with zero success....

247's Carolina Blue guy Ross Martin made his crystal ball pick on Kevin Knox today and it was for UNC. He said he wasn't 100% sure(LOL) but based it on recent intel from a couple of sources and on common sense. Take it for what it's worth and I'll believe it when it happens.

Knox had better be Kobe/Lebron/Karl Malone rolled into one and from Day 1.

Knox to UNC makes the most sense if Allen returns as I've noted. Mizzou came in this super late but does he really want to share the ball with Porter and probably Tilmon that much? If JB is back I really think Knox comes here.
