LUKE MFing MAYE . .

I've rewatched it a dozen times and still don't expect that sequence to go down that way....the best part of this is how much he was mocked by Duke fans, they mocked the kid at every turn and he's ****ing breaking their hearts time and time again.
To their credit, they actually have a thread praising Luke for the most part. Pretty classy.

Maye - Giles. Who you got? Why a big man goes to Dook just blows my mind.

Lukeeee mayeee go ahead buddy. You were not ready against Ibdiana and I called you out on it. But you are my boy. Thank you so much.

Maye a 3 star recruit out shines all of the 5 star McDonald all Americans playing for Kentucky. Again experience prevails over oad's.

All Luke did in the last 2:45 or so was hit both ends of a 1 and 1 from the stripe, grab a rebound, bail us out as we struggled to inbounds the ball for the second time in a row, make a stellar bullet pass assist to Jackson for an easy 2, dive on the floor and secure a loose ball for UNC, oh, yeah, and knock down the final shot to beat one of our most hated rivals as time was running out to send us to the Final Four. That's all, not too bad for a 3 star kid from Huntersville.

I cannot prove it conclusively, but I believe Luke also deflected the pass at the 1:37 mark that wound up in Berry's mitts. I have enlarged and slo-mo'd that action, and sure looks like the ball changes direction after Luke reaches out. Not 100% sure though. Either way, still Luke Maye, MOP of the South Regional!

We finally have that player on our team that in the past has burned us on the court. Maybe I'm getting old and my memory is failing but I can't think of a player we've had that I can compare Luke to. I'm not saying he's that great, just different.

Great comments. We always wanted a player like Luke and didn't know we had him.

I want to praise Theo Pinson here as well. After playing really badly for too long, Theo came up Huge down the stretch with several rebounds, 4-4 from the line under pressure, defense, and of course, the final speedy trip downcourt for the final assist on a great find!

Total team effort with contributions from everyone who played. This group of young men epitomize the term "team".
