LUKE MFing MAYE . .

I thought Luke was a walk-on his first year? Or was he supposed to be a walk-on but ended up getting a full ride afterwards?
roy told the story on one of the post game radio shows that he was recruiting luke as a 3 year scholarship player because he didn't believe we would have an opening. some kid turned us down .
roy called luke and said "go tell your dad to give you 1k for a beach trip." luke said "i don't think my dad will do that." roy said "why not you've just earned a 25k scholarship."

Yeah I heard that on Mike & Mike this morning too. Not sure why I didn't know this...

So... just think, Luke was MOP of the regional. If he does that again this weekend, his #32 will be RETIRED in the rafters.

Damn, thanks. I could've sworn MOP of the Final Four garnered a retired jersey. Thanks for the correction.

Heady company, nonetheless.

If could happen and you may have another trivial question that will be asked for years: Who was the only player that accepted a walk-on to start his NCAA career to win the NCAA MOP?

It's getting kind of full in the rafters. There is another 32 that is up there that we could replace with Luke's 32 if need be.

Yes please. YES PLEASE. Get Rashad's jersey the hell out of the rafters.
No. Regardless of anything he's said and done since then and going completely off his rocker, McCants was a key piece of an incredible team that brought home a national championship and he earned his spot in the rafters. Quit trying to rewrite history. Next you'll be wanting to take down Silent Sam.

I can respect that. He does piss me off though.

Great, game by Luke, really believe our season was done had he not dropped but kudos to Theo as well, he took the in bounds pass and did not hesitate to push it up and set up Luke for the clean look.

I know. I don't really want it taken down. Just said it in jest.

Hopefully Luke's isn't getting too high in the clouds over the attention he's getting. We still need him to show up and be focused on Saturday. That's a real concern for me. Every time I see another Luke Maye article from a national publication I cringe.

I think Luke has a real good head on his shoulders and will take this all in stride.

A lot of the younger crowd doesn't remember what a huge recruit Mark was at the time. He had an arm that was legendary and was a 3 sport HS star on the level of Danny Talbott. It is a shame he had the shoulder issues at a period in history when surgery just couldn't do the things that it can now.

Speaking of Theo. I think you see him saddled with more of the ball handling duties to help preserve Joel Saturday.
