Mayo Bowl gamethread

Mack has done a lot of the things he was hired to do. Bring the fan base together with a walk down memory lane. Raise money, and upgrade recruiting. All of those have been accomplished. But without some type of metamorphosis in the 2nd half, it may be time for this experiment to end. I know folks want to see changes at both coordinator positions, as well as some other assistant positions. Not sure that would be a fix. And at Mack's age, and the status of the program where Mack would be on the hot seat next year (whether anyone would officially say it) doesn't bode well for finding quality assistants. Who worth their salt is going to come to Chapel Hill for what could very well be a one year gig? And this type of play isn't on Longo, or Bateman. It is on Mack. He is the head coach. Mack just stands on the sideline and spits and claps, no matter how inept the team plays. This type of play is exactly what got Mack run out of Texas. The question is, are the power brokers at UNC content to continue their walk down memory lane with Mack, or does UNC want to really get serious about football? For years, decades, folks have said that UNC is a sleeping giant in football. The question is when does UNC get serious about pursuing that goal?

I'd love to know how Mack Brown can convince good players to come to his shit show.
He’s always been a great recruiter- coach? Not so much. I like Mack. He might need to look at a few changes as position coaches.

Mack Brown wasn't really a serious hire! He was a patch, at best. And, look at how they have used the best QB in history? He's fighting for his life in a shit bowl and losing!

The people at UNC have NEVER been serious about their football program. Not, in the modern-era, that is.

MIGHT need to?

He needs to retire, for good. Recruiting well is like buying fast cars and being paralyzed from the waist down.

Has Tomari played? I think Ritzie is getting lots of run, wondering if he supplanted him

That Piss poor defensive effort is an absolute joke and a disgrace. Supposedly so much talent and they look like that. Laughing stock.

UNC has deep pockets. Time to back up the checkbook and see what it will take to get the type of coach needed to improve the program. Make Kiffin an offer he can't refuse. Aranda at Baylor. And there are others. This is pathetic

I thought Mack should've retired at the end of this yr. Maybe we wouldn't have Zack Rice or Shaw but we're just postponing a decent product on the field.

If he does retire we MUST make a splash with the next hire to keep our recruiting class together

How many trick plays do they have?

A really great trick would be to turn Jay Bateman into Brent Venables!
