Here in Pensacola we have an amazing tribute band, the White Tie Rock Ensemble! They do tributes to just about anybody, except bands with a female vocalist. In Sept. they're dong a "yacht rock" show and an "Arena Rock" show (Aerosmith, Boston, Bon Jovi, Kansas and Journey) They are amazing and some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. We would probably have to call in AJ for that. I don't think it's worth bothering him with it, especially with the recent issues caused. Not sure if @heelbent still has mod status. If so, he could do it on one of the three days a year he's online.

Yep, I couldn’t remember if it was him or Frey that said early in the morning they would hear the tea kettle whistle then Brown would play a few bars of the song on the piano, then a few minutes later they would hear the tea kettle again and Brown would play it over. This would go on all day adding a few bars and repeat the next day. Funny stuff, but I think Frey said that although it was irritating it taught him how to write music.He died??? Damn!
Souther's anecdotes about living above Jackson Browne were awesome. He and Frey were roommates and played in a duet (Longbranch/Pennywhistle), before joining Ronstadt and the Eagles. He talked about having to hear "Doctor, My Eyes", on piano, over, and over, and over... "I just wanted to go down there and strangle him!"
You nailed it. Frey was saying it... "ahhh... it's elbow grease!" I can imagine that when you hear the thing being written when you're trying to sleep... over and over... it drives you crazy. Souther had less tolerance! lol

I was going to post something similar the other day, to give the younger people here a heads up about what it's like seeing your contemporaries that you've had some connection with going to their reward on a daily basis. But when I started, I realized that I'm not sure how I feel about it. Strangely, it's not necessarily bad. It definitely gets your attention though.
There are many excellent tribute bands out there! Over the last year I've seen tributes to ABBA, Bee Gees, The Rolling Stones, Alabama and all were excellent. My "go -to's" down here are The White Tie Rock Ensemble who normally do tributes to 4-5 classic bands each show, and The Molly Ringwalds a strictly 80s tribute band, they're really fun (and good). At a fraction of the cost, you can see some excellent tributes to some of the greatest bands ever!
We have someone similar in my area known as The Reagan Years. They are shockingly good and always put on a great show if you like stuff from the 80s.
