Thoughts? I bet Roy backs out of this recruitment immediately or already has. Javhon Quinerly is rumored to be the recruit discussed in the FBI documents and he just recently committed to Arizona and is friends with Nassir Little. Add in the fact that Arizona had prioritized Little along with Arizona's assistant coach being indicted along with Nassir Little's AAU program director and you have a recruitment that feels very shady. I'm not saying Little is involved but I see enough red flags to feel like Roy will walk away quickly.

Gotta think we're done here. Which sucks, because he's my favorite prospect we've been involved with in years.

The operative question was asked in one of the tweets, i.e. will he ever even be deemed eligible after all this?

I guess he tweeted, then deleted he has re-opened his recruitment.. Looks like was indeed Zona bound due to $$$.

I'd still be delighted to get Days and/or Lasz.

I don't know if Little is toxic now. Too much rumor, not enough fact. But I've always liked Days and Lasz.

It's closer to fact than rumor. Either way, I think we're done with Little.

White, Black, and Laszewski would be a nice class, all things considered.

Why back out? The competition just got decimated hahahahaha.

The question I have is if he even still has his eligibility.

I've been an advocate of taking on more OADs but if Little is involved in shady shit, or might not become eligible I won't blame Roy for taking a pass on him.

This whole investigation and indictment has really changed the game and its impact will continue to be felt.

if Little is eligible..he will find a place to "showcase" his game and OAD..all about that dollar...since he can't wait..Euro/China?

I loved Little's game and thought he would've been a great fit. After today, I expect Roy to stay far away and I hope he does.

Litttle is not going to UNC. Roy backed off on his soon after the OV. He is toxic and Roy does not play the money game. That's another reason why Roy reaches out for a class act like Hubert Davis to be an assistant coach. He knows what some of these high profile coaches are doing out there. I have said from Day 1 that Hubert will replace Roy when he retires and I'm sticking to it.

Roy just visited Little in Florida a few days ago. Roy knew nothing about this investigation and was still recruiting Little.

Would've been a great guy to land, but oh well. on to the next one.

Days or Las, the door is open!

Prior to the stuff from yesterday I do not know of any information indicating Roy had back off of Little in any way, I honestly do not think he had. I seriously doubt Roy knew of any money transactions Arizona had or was trying to arrange with the kid or if there were any arrangements with the kid. While I am sure Roy knew the problem existed out there and in some cases knew a kid was taking cash offers, I think those instances are when we have seen Roy back away. I know of 2 guys that will be freshmen in college this season that it appears late in the game family put together financial arrangements and they ended up committed elsewhere, both to the same school by the way. I do believe Roy understood what happened but do not think he was offered the op to bid, Roy has a reputation among college coaches as being a "goody to shoes" (they do not call him that in a flattering way).

Roy tries to see the best in a kid, sometimes goes to far in that a kid that has some issues Roy will still try to see the best side of him, as in PJ, LMac, Graves, Drew, and even McCants. It hits him especially hard when that blows up in his face because the man really cares about his kids more than the program itself but he wil not do anything knowingly to put the program that Dean Smith built in jeopardy, he feels a real obligation to preserving the legacy of Dean that go way beyond himself. I as well believe Roy passes that same notion on to his assistant coaches, his assistants would never be allowed to do what Capel does, Roy does not like his coaches negative recruiting at all even thou we have been so often the target of negative recruiting.

Many of these coaches the image is crafted and is very different from the man, with Roy, what ya see is what ya get, the image is the man.

Steat, a few us(myself, gary, a few others) have been preaching this for years but always get shot down, laughed at, and called names.
Many of those clowns are incognito right now

Article details the bidding war for Little between Miami and Arizona. UNC never had a chance in this recruitment with this crap going on behind the scene. https://www.google.com/amp/s/miami....ing-War-For-5-Star-Prospect-Nas-108034170/Amp

This might be petty, but I'm glad this happened. If this story never dropped and he committed elsewhere, it would've have been spun as yet another recruit Roy missed out on. Any many would have bought into that. Ashamed to admit it, but I'd probably go for that too. Especially considering how clean it seemed his recruitment was.

All I can say is how "Dadgum" happy I am to have Roy Williams as our coach. Like you've seen in my previous threads about Roy, I truly admire him as a coach, but also as a person off the court with strong morals and integrity. He's someone who prides himself on honesty and continues to embody the principles he learned from Dean. His character has been questioned too many times and for all of us it is super frustrating because we have seen and heard about the person he truly is. Roy has stayed true to his ways and his game plan even as the landscape of college basketball has changed. Where has that brought him/UNC basketball???
3 National Championships, 5 Final Fours, 1 National Runner Up, 3 ACC Tournament Titles and 8 ACC Regular Season Titles all in 14 years. He's done this while staying true to the Carolina way and having great kids who truly love him and the University of North Carolina. With him as their leader, they have worked as a TEAM, with no one being bigger than the other and having a connection on and off the court unlike any other. And that's the way its always been and will continue to be.

So to end, I am truly thankful that we have Roy and great people like him leading our program in a professional and respectable way leading us not to be absorbed by any of these developments. Let's always remember why we love our Tar Heels and who are the people that continue to keep it that way, the only way, The Carolina Way!!

Another fine post. Couldn't agree more.

Roy backed off on Little but thought a last minute visit might help. One thing for sure, Roy knows that all Top 10 players are offered money by shady schools Perhaps he thought he could convince Little to commit without offering him anything (just like the last 21 OAD players that he has struck out on).

Put Roy on an even playing field and lets see what will happen. That may be coming soon. Just think... the NCAA has spent years raving over a few AFAM classes and all this illegal sufff going with college coaches. The cruel thing about this is that many in the NCAA knew it was going on and didn't have the staff and money to stop it.
